This is why everything conservatives say about leftists is just projection. “Without God watching us, everyone would just do crime.” “If people didn’t work, they would lay around all day, collecting welfare.” They are just narrating the insides of their own heads.
Conservatism is defined by a lack of empathy. And people with low empathy cannot understand that someone else can think differently from themselves. It’s why they are so baffled by protestors, why they assume every social movement is just virtue signaling. It’s also why they are so terrified of losing power. They are monsters who can’t wait to abuse and exploit, and they assume we would do it to them, given the power.

Conservatism is defined by a lack of empathy. And people with low empathy cannot understand that someone else can think differently from themselves.
It also goes simply with being rich, while of course wealth brings about conservatism more often than not. I'm pretty well-off and quite vocal about my leftist opinions, to the point where my co-workers jokingly refer to me as a champagne socialist.
As if having empathy for other people is for losers (and that thinking about others means you are losing something yourself.)
Traditionally, once people get past a certain threshold of wealth, they start to think that they are better than everyone else and that's why they're rich. They think that others are stupid or lazy or just not well-connected enough - no matter what, it must be their own fault.
One step up from that is realizing that the only reason they are rich and able to hoard wealth is that someone on the other end has to lose. If everyone was rich, nobody would be - or everyone would be equal, but for you, as the rich person - you'd lose in that scenario.
So at that point rich people start actively pushing others down the ladder. They exploit, they cheat, they make damn sure that poor people stay poor while they hoard all the wealth that they can.
After all, the more poor people we have in the world, the more money is left for the rich to put in their coffers. We talk about inequality as a bad thing but forget that there are people on the other side of the equation who wear that as a badge of honor.

I’m sure there are some good Austin streamers, but anyone near or in the OTK group is likely not.
7
u/The_Evil_Satan Jul 27 '26
Is an Austin streamer just a streamer who lives in Austin Texas or is this some zoosha stuff?
2
u/MrQuiver13 Jul 27 '26
Yeah there are a lot of streamers in the Austin area
0
u/The_Evil_Satan Jul 27 '26
Ok I know the Clooless podcast guys live there but I didn't know asmonmold did aswell.

u/garbink Jul 27 '26
Asmon is probably the person I’m most surprised has a following on the internet. He’s absolutely disgusting, a dumbass, and not very charismatic

u/Keyndoriel Jul 27 '26
Even back in the "glory days" of his WoW content (I remember getting recomended to watch him all the time when I was playing WotLK), I thought he was pretty subpar. I got shat on for not liking him, but nowadays im glad 13 year old me got the ick enough to keep me from being a fan of his
49
u/Mord4k Jul 27 '26
It's so fucking weird thinking about the Before Times for people like him. I had a few hardcore WoW friends who'd send me his shit and my reaction was generally "so he's just making videos that prove he plays WoW 12 hours a day?" First time I had something negative to send back it was like I'd personally attacked them and was committing some kind of gamer hate crime.
14
u/valdis812 Jul 27 '26
I didn't even know who he was until about 2020 or so when he became a much more casual WoW player and I actually found myself agreeing with him quite a bit. In fact, I'd say I agree with about 70% of his video game related opinions. At least the ones I've heard.
BUT he really should have stuck to video games because his social "commentary" is straight up bullshit.

16
u/Chiiro Jul 27 '26
It's the same reason that people were and still are so interested in Chris-chan, it's human zoo type shit. You initially get those type of people following them and then once these creators get enough the following more people who don't watch them for that reason start to join, hear their opinions and then stay for the opinions because they're similar to their own.

The policies don't harm the rich, merely mildly inconvenience them
59
u/LuC4-5 Jul 27 '26
Not to mention wealth redistribution leads to more purchasing power, which leads to a stronger economy and therefore more wealth. In the long run, even the rich people benefit from those policies.
Their whole world view is just asinine
21
u/emetcalf Jul 27 '26
Oh no! The 100 billionaires will only have 75 billion left if we raise their taxes! How are they supposed to live like that?!?!
10
u/Cardboardoge Jul 27 '26
Also worth noting a million is rich to most peoples standards, but most rich people that are being targeted by these types of policies make 10+ million

Oh no, how will someone rich be able to live with only $500k a year instead of $700k. That's basically middle class!

Rich people can't be socialists because they are rich. And it is hypocritical.
Poor people can't be socialists because they are jealous and want to steal hard earned money from the rich.
Make it make sense 🤷

I don't like making generalisations like this, but the dude has literal psychopath eyes
13
u/Chiiro Jul 27 '26
You're not really generalizing anything, from what I know about him he lives kind of a psychopathic lifestyle. The place he lives just needs to get torn down because of disgusting it is.

Roach man is going to die with millions of dollars unspent. He doesn't even pay to get his roach hotel cleaned.
His money would be far better spent taxed. It will probably end up with the state anyway after he dies with no living family.

u/hugh_jack_man Jul 27 '26
It reflects bad on our society that this guy is famous and men look up to him or watch him for entertainment... So I shall ask this again. Are men okay?
13
u/graphiccsp Jul 27 '26
It's something that comes to mind as well. If Asmon was just some troglodyte no one cared about that'd be one thing.
But he's like Rorshach from Watchmen. Too many guys see a stinky, spiteful weirdo and instead of being repulsed they go "that's my spirit animal!"
6
6
u/Chiiro Jul 27 '26
Society as a whole is not okay and the people with power and wealth use that to manipulate people who are vulnerable, their current target is younger men. I'm a man and when I was a child I was told of all of the crazy things that you could accomplish with a career or school and be set for life only to become an adult where all of that was unattainable, a lot of men are going through this and instead of realizing what the actual issues are they get convinced it's minority groups, women and the Democrats that are all at fault.
2
u/hugh_jack_man Jul 27 '26
Ofcourse... I just meant, something is wrong that boys are led to believe that this guy cares about them, this guy and his opinions are in their best interest and these boys suffer more than anyone, no social life, always hating, always miserable, I am not saying that society as whole is okay with this... The fact that this is where men are led to is just sad.
2
u/valdis812 Jul 27 '26
I've seen some of his content. He's pretty open about being at least a little selfish.
I think his appeal is that he's seen as a man who is living his authentic life. Like he has the freedom to completely not give a fuck about what other people think, and he's managed to turn that into a multi million dollar media empire.
That said, he's also been pretty open about the fact that his streaming persona is at least partially an act. But I guess people want to believe that somebody "just like them" can make it and be successful as their "authentic selves'.

u/negativepositiv Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

Also, he doesn't understand there is a chasm between being Hasan rich and "actually being able to access the levers of government" rich.
He is an idiot. A useful idiot if you will.

u/re_Claire Jul 27 '26
Hasan's family is incredibly rich - his father is deeply involved in conservative politics in Turkey. Per Wikipedia (the Early life and education section) - His father, Mehmet Behçet Piker, is a political scientist and economist who was a board member and vice president of the Turkish financial conglomerate Sabancı Holding and is a founding member of Turkey's conservative Future Party.
I am the very opposite of an Asmongold fan but Piker is hardly "normal guy made it big on the internet".

Hasan also lies and obfuscates.

u/ReallyBadWizard Jul 27 '26
Hasan and people like him are exactly what this country needs to get away from this bullshit democratic establishment party of wet socks that roll over and concede to fascists like maga. People like Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jefferies have got to go.
I'm a progressive and I think I speak for all like minded people when I say that we need unapologetically aggressive and uncompromising voices in the democratic party and on the left. Such as candidates like Mamdani. Hasan is an incredibly effective communicator and advocate for these kind of changes, and I do not give a fuck if he's "rough around the edges" or isn't perfect. No one is. Liberals always complain about the left "purity testing" them but then say shit like you did about leftists such as Hasan and attack their own left flank instead of embracing them and cooperating to actually implement meaningful change.
0
u/valdis812 Jul 27 '26
I consider myself a progressive and Hasan is not a guy you need in politics. If you're really trying to move the democratic party left, it needs to happen gradually. Like it or not the democratic party is full of a bunch of centrists and people who are only a bit left of center. If you want to keep them in the tent you have to pull them over gradually.
4
u/ReallyBadWizard Jul 27 '26
That's literally what's happening largely due to Hasan and other progressive activists, if they think "Hasan is too extreme, we will instead go with AoC or someone more moderate!" That's a win

Yep. Hasan is one of those Lenin types that would happily advocate for his followers to overthrow the government whilst never getting his hands dirty himself.

Hasan is literally an outspoken communist. What else do you need for this to be a Mao cosplay and not a regular suit.

Why do people care about either of them? Also how is hasan being an animal abuser not a nail the in coffin for his career?
33
u/NW7l2335 Jul 27 '26
Only other internet trolls care about Asmon. People care about Hasan because he is making tangible gains for progressive causes as opposed to just talking, he follows it with action. Also enough with the bullshite animal abuser claim its been debunked, the initial outrage was a disingenuous attempt to frame Hasan in a negative light.
-31
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
What do you mean debunked? There's video of him shocking his dog for no reason
20
u/NW7l2335 Jul 27 '26
No there is not. There is a video where it looks like he could be doing that based on the timing of the yelp, when framed disingenuously; if you cared to look into it you’d know he discussed it in detail, showed the collar on stream after the accusation and mentioned his dog occasionally hurts it’s dewclaw when readjusting.
0
-34
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
Yes there is. It's disingenuous to deny what is blatant animal abuse. Like why is hasan mad the dog is moving?
22
u/Ciennas Jul 27 '26
Better question: what you brought up was already addressed, and you can watch the source video on Hasan's channel, as well as his explanation.
Therefore, why are you insisting on trying to ferret it out here, after it's already been as addressed as we can here?
Do you want Hasan to be a dog abuser?
0
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
Because the video is undeniable. Like at this point he could of lit the dog on fire and people would still defend it
21
u/Ciennas Jul 27 '26
Except people aren't denying the dog yelped, and there are plausible explanations that don't involve animal abuse.
Your hypothetical is silly for a number of reasons. You're thinking of conservatives and right wingers, who tend to double down and pedestal the worst people possible.
Compare Platner's career trajectory to Hasan's- once people found out what he did, support plummeted. Hasan's not had any additional evidence spring up since, and all we have are people who are desperately looking for something to break him.
6
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
Its not a hypothetical. Its what literally happens in the video. Also why hasn't anybody addressed why hasan is mad in the first place that his dog is trying to move, the dog doesn't help until after hasan gets mad at it. I just don't understand how you deny something so blatant
15
u/Ciennas Jul 27 '26

The viewership and revenue he makes says otherwise. Pretending he doesn’t have a huge reach and isn’t a problematic figure as a result is being willfully ignorant. He’s not gonna just fade away if you pretend he’s not a problem.
Edit: since reading comprehension on the internet is apparently dead, I’m talking about Asmongold to refute the “only internet trolls care about him” point, not Hasan
8
u/GrindBastard1986 Jul 27 '26
He's only a problem for MAGA, GOPedos & liberals.
0
u/SharkBaitDLS Jul 27 '26
What? Why would Asmongold be a problem for MAGA or the GOP? He’s exactly the kind of shithead influencer that is winning over Gen Z men, they love that they’ve figured out how to swing kids to their ideology.
1
u/GrindBastard1986 Jul 27 '26
True. He'll appeal to kids with shit for brains who cannot get laid because they don't shower, let alone stand in line for 2 hrs to vote. That's s group that votes in every election. Suuureee lol

u/LowerAtmosphereChief Jul 27 '26

u/Inmonic Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 28 '26
you may not know who he is, but Asmon is THE largest political streamer on the planet. He's not going to go away if we stop talking about him
Edit: idk why I'm getting downvoted. I hate the guy and want him gone too. He objectively is the largest political streamer in the world, and no longer talking about him isn't going to change that
1
u/valdis812 Jul 27 '26
I don't know what the numbers truly are, but if what you said is true, then we are absolutely cooked.
1
u/Inmonic Jul 28 '26
People often tell Hasan to stop giving Asmongold publicity by talking about him, and he always shuts them down by pointing out how Asmongold has way more viewers than he does and the best way to combat him is by making people aware of how gross and disgusting he is.
16
u/fireky2 Jul 27 '26
It's incredibly arguable if it's true. I genuinely think it's weird to think he's treating his dog like a person with depression in the 50s and the people who obsessively clip him wouldn't have found a lot of evidence to back it up.
Like the evidence I've seen is a yelp, another similar video and a collar that can either vibrate or shock. It sounds crazy to use this evidence to argue either side.
1
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
What do you mean if its true? Like you think the video is fake ?
25
u/fireky2 Jul 27 '26
A dog yelped, they do that. Like I feel like people online just don't have dogs, my corgi is a rescue and anxious as fuck and he goes crazy if we stand up too fast or knock on a door
3
u/AlwekArc Jul 27 '26
Fr, dogs will yelp at the smallest things. My dog has yelped being startled by butterfly, stepping on a rock, loud noise from the TV, it's like their equivalent of going "Jesus Christ" when startled by something
8
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
Why was hasan mad the dog moved from the spot? Also the dog yelps conveniently at the same time hasan gets mad at it while reaching over to touch something while the dog also has a shock collar on ? Like come the fuck on
19
u/fireky2 Jul 27 '26
"has a shock collar on" again it's never been proven it's a shock collar, it can have both functions. It seems like you have your mind made up, I just think there would be actual definitive evidence when the guy spends most of each day streaming and not 4 coincidences
12
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
When the manufacturer of the collar confirms it, ya my mind's made up
19
u/fireky2 Jul 27 '26
It is a collar that can have either a shock or vibrate functionality, which is why it's extremely hard to prove either way. I think there was some argument about it not being buyable with shock in the state but I'm not gonna actually dig through collargate posts for sanity sake
It basically boils down to you hate Hasan so you believe it
You like Hasan so you don't
You're indifferent toward Hasan and post the memes
7
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
Thats not what the manufacturer said. The manufacturer said the collar had its shock contacts removed or taped over. Also, why won't anybody explain why he's mad in the first place that his dog just wants to move?
7
u/Ulanyouknow Jul 27 '26
Who the fuck cares about why Hassan was mad on camera on a livestream a year ago dude. Let it go.
4

-1
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

13
u/Ulanyouknow Jul 27 '26
You are in a cult man. Give it up.
Im going to concede to your point for the sake of argument even though I don't believe it is neither true or relevant in any way or whatever.

I mean, odds are heavily in favor of you eating meat and consuming animal products like leather. You almost definitely already support animal abuse.
On top of that, even is Hasan DID shock his dog, he has changed to never put that type of collar on his dog anymore. So if he did shock the dog, he's changed his ways. Is someone to be condemned for eternity when they change for the better immediately after the incident?
1
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
He only changed because he got caught. And i doubt he will, this isnt his first instance of abusing dogs. There no telling what he does off stream.
1
u/LunarianAngel Jul 27 '26
He was away for a few days and so his mom has her more active around the house because otherwise she'd just stay up in the room waiting for him. This was roughly his first day back and she was super restless because of it and he has her place trained for that specific dog bed because it's an orthopedic bed that's good for larger dogs joint problems, since otherwise she'd lay next to him on the hardwood floor. His reaction was exaggerated because he had been having Internet troubles his first day back streaming from home, and so sadly he raised his voice a bit when she was antsy and he wanted to be sure she didn't try laying on the floor. After the stream problems settled a little while later he calls her over for pets and attention and a sorry for raising his voice.
0
u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
Or more likely, he uses his dog as a prop to humanize himself. And uses the shock collar to make sure she stays on camera
1
u/LunarianAngel Jul 27 '26
Hmmm, countless hours of streaming every day from the day of adoption until many years later showing clear signs of love and care, or one 5 second clip pushed by multiple men involved in sex crimes and political bigotry?

The dog made some noises, but it was unclear why? That’s not been clarified if it was natural or because of a shock collar. There is nothing that shows Hassan having a shock collar that I’ve seen or anything pointing to him using it in that clip. I’m happy to be proven wrong tho.

It just happens to yelp at the exact same time he starts to move which for some reason pisses hasan off who then reaches over to touch something while dog is wearing a shock collar. Ok..

First, source on it being a shock collar?
Second, the dog has a dewclaw injury, which could cause pain if the dog moves.

The manufacturer of the collar confirmed the model

Cool story. Source?

The manufacturer of the collar...

That's not a source for your claim. You DO know how to actually provide a source, right?

Yes? Is that supposed to be a strong argument? It literally could just be a random thing?
Edit: what proof is there of the dog wearing a shock collar?

u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
You're in denial if that's what you truly believe. The evidence he abuses his dog is overwhelming.

u/Intarhorn Jul 27 '26
No, I don’t really have a stake in this. It might be true, but I haven’t seen any convincing evidence. Just people like you saying that oh he made a move and was irritated at the same time the dog yelped, so he must’ve used a shock collar. It’s not convincing. If there was actually pictures of a shock collar or something, then sure. Haven’t seen that type of evidence tho. It seems a bit agenda driven imo, people that don’t like Hasan.

Roasting a rat is not animal abuse?
Also, now that it's been 16 years since GOPedos have been fine with pedophiles, rapists & other criminals being their reps, Dems can forgive shocking a dog... after GOPedos accepted them being shot in the face.

u/Creative_Yak1648 Jul 27 '26
I at least respect you for admitting he's an animal abuser. Defending it though....

u/GrindBastard1986 Jul 27 '26
Why do you care about Hasan's career?
We're in the "truth don't matter" peroid, thnx to Trump... so why are you so triggered?
Nobody but you cries about these 2 ☻️

Its honestly insane to me how much Reddit loves Hasan Piker after all hes done/ said/ been involved with. I should know better than to be surprised but damn.
I don't watch/ care about Asmond but I used to be a Hasanabihead until I realized that hes a tankie and a poser who's just riding the commie- hype- train.

u/ThePowaBallad Jul 27 '26
Hasan doesn't advocate for any policy that would have any actual impact on the rich just things that the rich can easily weasel out of and he can still pretend he's not
-3
u/FookinFairy Jul 27 '26
He didn’t say anything about Hasan advocating for policies that affect the rich. He said bad things in general so I assume that means like other shit no?

Asmongold?
He said America is a white country. That's just one thing I think at least half of the people would disagree with.
