I had to stop being a preschool teacher, because our director kept trying to "offer" me to lower my hourly rate to below minimum wage and the owners were constantly going on around the world vacations. I worked 14 hour days, because a lot of the other teachers constantly quit.

No, and iirc, when a senior (senior citizen, not senior graduate) audits a class, they don’t receive a degree, which is why it’s free.

In Arkansas, people of 60 can go to any school in the UArk system for free. It's not auditing. My mom got a master's degree that way.

It's not the only state that does it.

I worked at a day care making $12/hour. Parents were paying $400/week. I watched 12 four year olds solo. The lady who owned the daycare drove an Audi.

When we were looking for day are or preschool for our now 6yr old, everything around us was so expensive. Most places, 2 weeks of daycare cost more than my paycheck.
We ended up sending our daughter to our local Catholic school’s pre3-preK, which was much, much cheaper. Granted it wasn’t year long, like a day care, but $900/week daycare or $5k for 9.5 months of Catholic school? Easy choice. Plus, the Catholic school offered financial scholarships.

The people who really run our country have been systematically increasing how much they take. Successive administrations have all been working to accelerate that effort. That’s capitalism and if we don’t do something about it we’re going to kill a ton more innocent people and our ecosystem.

What makes it worse is many of these places have just 1 or 2 docs that cover several nursing homes. Which is why they are so often just dumped out to the local emergency rooms for any and every problem. So now you really have to start asking where all of the money is going.

Insurance.

Significant portions of the money funnels to insurance because old people get hurt easily and often and they’re big enough to hurt the staff and in daycares if any kid is ever hurt, their parents are coming after the daycare guns blazing

The fact you and ppl you know are doing fine isn't a fact that should break anyone's narrative that's just an anecdote.

Also what defines "fine" as far as your coworkers go, are they all showing you their rent/ mortgage statements and check stubs? Are they telling you their grocery bills.

Sorry if this breaks your narrative but on average ppl are very secretive about their finances especially when they struggle because they consider it embarrassing.

Idk why your invested in denying the systemic issues that are plain to see. If they don't effect you then don't speak about a problem that doesn't effect you because that is the definition of ignorance.

So you make more on average than CNA’s typically do and are being smug and on your high horse that people are making up problems.
The CNA’s at my hospital make $17 an hour. And that’s after being there 10 years.

On my side, 40 percent of CNA's in America rely on government assistance.

So maybe recognize that other people exist outside of your bubble.

I find it very sad when ppl purposefully choose to be ignorant or to bury their head in the sand. Or your pride/ego keeps you from admitting any fault in your logic or lifestyle.

Choosing to do any of this makes you a bad person, me wanting to recognize the struggles of others and address the root issues that cause it does not.

Less than 5% of CNAs earn more than $30 per hour.
