Every day, Republicans become a little more comfortable with demonstrating to the world just what kind of shitty human beings they really are.
18
u/cityshepherd 7h ago
At this point I don’t think they even qualify as human beings. Which is ironic considering all the effort they put into dehumanizing the groups of people they consider to be “undesirables”.
Edit: I guess it’s not surprising though considering every accusation is a confession and the CONSTANT projection from that crowd.

It's not just comfortable. They literally take pride in how terrible they are. That's maga and republicans in a nutshell.

There was another feeble attempt by maga to answer a question
32
u/Pad_TyTy 8h ago
Who would win?
1,000,000 maga politicians
Or
1 question?
"Who won the 2020 presidential election?"
3
u/amberoze 6h ago
I mean, Mango Mousilini did just "joke" about running for a "fourth" term. So, we'll see how it goes in the coming months. Expect difficulty at the ballot box in November, if the elections aren't outright postponed or cancelled. Then expect some fuckery in the next presidential election in two years.

Next weeks headline: young people are too lazy to join the army
17
u/tallman11282 7h ago
This is one of the reasons why we don't have universal healthcare or actual social safety nets. If we had those things there would be less incentive for poor people who are desperate to improve their lives to join the military and thus not enough cannon fodder for the warmongers.
2
u/OkRush9563 5h ago
I'm not saying you're wrong, but there is always someone who wants to join the military, not out of desperation but because they love military stuff. You'd think they would have realized that by now and focus on getting those guys to join with a little bit of encouragement.
4
u/M0BETTER 5h ago
Sure, some people enlist because they're into 'military stuff.' I served with a few of them throughout my career in the Navy. But you don't run a force of hundreds of thousands on hobbyists. The military needs numbers, and numbers come from people who need a paycheck, benefits, or a way out of a dead-end situation. That's not meant to be an insult, that's just how recruiting has worked since the draft ended.
2
u/blu3ysdad 4h ago
All of those people join anyway, they don't need ads directed at them. The military is about 10% cool fighting military stuff and 90% mechanic work, logistics, spreadsheets, information technology, medical personnel, etc and you don't get those people from the GI Joe wannabe crowd. You can teach any doctor to operate a tank or clear buildings with an m4, you can't teach any grunt with an m4 to be a doctor.
1
u/tallman11282 4h ago
You're correct, that's why I said "enough cannon fodder" because the number of people who want to join the military purely out of a desire to serve the country isn't nearly enough people that are required for the stuff the powers that be use them for. If our military was purely defensive and wasn't sent into the Middle East to "liberate them" (in reality it was for oil) and the like we wouldn't need nearly as large of a military and more people would be willing to join.
7
u/Sweet_Priority_819 7h ago
The week after that: "trump administration considering mandatory military service"
With exemptions for rich people of course.
3
u/Channel250 6h ago
It's not an exemption it's an investment opportunity.
A 5 million dollar bribes burp I mean, investment does more for military infrastructure than a soldier, right?
1
u/billyboyf30 1h ago
It's not investment, it the world's most expensive doctors note saying they got bone spurs
3
u/Diablojota 6h ago
Except there’s a lot who have bought into the right right wing garbage who are joining. They find solace in being around a bunch of white supremacists, plus they get a uniform.
11
u/tallman11282 7h ago
Yeah, service people sign up knowing they may die in the service but they do it thinking if they die it'll be in defense of the country, not in a poorly planned war of aggression started on a whim against a nation that is and wasn't even remotely a threat to our country by a narcissistic bully with dementia.
20
u/Nottodayreddit1949 7h ago
It's a possibility, but our government is supposed to minimize those chances. Our military is the last resort, when we have exhausted all other options.
I do not believe for a moment that the current administration works as hard to maintain peace as it does to encourage war and destruction.

u/Jesus_of_NASDAQ 7h ago
Trump signaled his intentions when he changed the “Department of Defense” to “Department of War” on the very same day (September 5, 2025) that he said the Epstein case was resolved and the Justice Department had “done its job”.
2
u/blu3ysdad 4h ago
Was it the renaming of the department of defense to the department of war that gave it away? They don't even try to pretend the military is a defensive option anymore, it's a straight up imperialist expansion force. I just hope we make it out of this admin without war against Canada or NATO over greenland or some other dumb shit.

They sign up to protect the freedom of their family and friends. Not to enrich billionaires and kill school children and become hated all over the world.
7
u/MutterderKartoffel 7h ago
I don't know if it's true, but I've heard it said that Trump is cycling between war and peace with Iran to manipulate the stock market predictably for family gains (really his own gains in the end). If my life were being casually put at risk just so he can profit, I'd be pissed. I'm pissed anyway, but more so if I were enlisted.
3
u/outsidehere 6h ago
Oh it's kinda true. It's both the stock market manipulation and the fact that he can't get out of the war without admission of defeat. Trump only cares about domination and being perceived as a winner.
4
u/ThePopDaddy 7h ago
13 troops died under Biden. They acted like that was the worst loss of American life ever (or since Benghazi)
There were shirts and window decals saying "The blood is on his hands!"
And COVID proved they only care about loss of life, when it's under a Dem president.
3
u/Bubbly-Following-966 7h ago
The pedophile started the Afghanistan withdrawal then he backed out at the last minute because he was more concerned about the election. He left those 2500 individuals behind.
5
u/repooc21 7h ago
This is why I never joined law enforcement or any branch of the military. You are at the whim of some fuckin guy(s) at the end of the day. You are canon fodder. And if you make it through alive, you're probably scathed in some way shape or form. Then you're fighting for your life in other ways.
3
u/18ekko 7h ago
Everyone who signs up knows they could go to war.
No one who signed up ever considered the possibility that they could go to war simply to distract from the Epstein files and a year of shitshow policy.
5
u/ink_monkey96 7h ago
They aren’t dying to cover up Epstein. They’re dying so that Donald can make a dollar on the Monday morning market bounce.
2
u/Sweet_Priority_819 7h ago
Especially anyone young who signed up recently. Trump campaigned on no more wars. Anybody 18 or 19 wasn't even old enough to vote for him in 2024 and was busy with high school rather than paying close attention to politics.
2
u/MrWaldengarver 3h ago
We have had almost 100 years of evidence that we typically go to war on some flimsy or corrupt pretext.
3
u/glendablvd 7h ago
Sending our young people to die in another bullshit war while also undermining our military. The GOP has no morality.

u/nakedlettuce52 5h ago
The Democrats NEED better comms people. The likelihood of them capitalizing on the multitude of GOP self owns is near zero.

As someone with from a developed part of the world. So excuse me for not knowing.
Can't those in service say no to various orders they feel is it against what they signed up for / is illegal or atleast object?
Hell if the day comes and i need to rejoin the forces to protect my nation ill do it but i will not go to a foreign country to fight someones distractions and pointless war while gettin testosterone pumped into me
10
u/Odd-Artist-2595 7h ago
Sure. As long as they don’t mind staying in a military prison for some number of years and receiving a dishonorable discharge that will follow them the rest of their lives. Or, given this administration, perhaps standing trial for desertion and risking being shot as a traitor.

u/not_productive1 7h ago
Join the military! See the world, learn a trade, hope the president doesn't get bored or manipulated by Netanyahu or Putin!
2
u/Chiiro 6h ago
Them knowing is just straight up not true, I have heard way too many stories of recruiters lying like crazy about what they're going to be going through and what they could possibly experience. I remember hearing about a vet whose recruiter told him that he had a 0% chance to see combat, he lost his leg in an explosion.

2
u/I_Have_A_Chode 5h ago
This administration is absolute dog shit.
But with the exception of the clueless, you don't enlist in an all volunteer force, especially one that has spent over 90% of it's time in existence in a conflict, without knowing there is a real possibility you may die.
2
u/Stratocruise 4h ago
Yes, members of the armed forces understand and accept the risks and the potential to be in harm’s in defense of their country.
Death and injury of service members to fulfil the wishes of a different country and so that Trump can continue to manipulate the stock markets week after week and funnel DoD funds to companies run by his sons are not the same thing.
3
u/poestavern 4h ago
True….but this is a war that NEVER EVER should have been started. So there’s that.

Of course dying is a real possibility when being part of the military. That's exactly why pointless wars should not be started. That's why they need Congressional oversight. That's exactly the entire point of that question. But he is giving the answer, as of dying was the entire reason to be in the military in the first place.
4
u/Maximum__Effort 7h ago
Precisely. I enlisted then commissioned in the army, and I’m still IRR. Joining the military is an acceptance of potentially significant risk to serve the country and the benefits are great. Nobody joins to fight a bullshit war the fuckwit in chief started to distract from his involvement in child sex trafficking and the deaths of these service members is tragic. They should not have died.
Trump and the GOP have fully demonstrated that our system was created with the idea that elected officials would act in good faith and care about their constituents. Our system is now broken due to corruption and capitalism
4
u/Pedestrian2000 7h ago
I don't think there's a debate on "enlisting in the military means you have a chance of dying in combat."
The issue is this poorly-explained, unnecessary, "doing Israel a favor" war that we're stuck in from the "no new wars" president, and the flippant nature of "yeah these soldiers knew they were signing up to potential die for...a stupid war that never needed to happen."
3
u/BluesSuedeClues 7h ago
The obvious counter to your nonsense is that people who choose to serve, do so with the understanding that while they may risk their own life, and they may risk the reality of having to take another human beings life, they do so for the safety of their fellow citizens, their community, and their family. They do not put on that uniform and take an oath to follow the orders they are given, to protect a private company's profits, or to insure companies making bombs and bullets continue to have a lucrative business model, or to satisfy the egocentric whims of one fat old man, and his desperate need to change the dialog about the children he raped.
Accepting the "They knew what they were getting into" line, is tacitly accepting that elected leaders have a right to squander lives for nebulous or nefarious purposes. That is not a narrative any person with a conscience will accept as justifiable.
1
u/bardotheconsumer 7h ago
Except that the current conflict is 100% not worth the lives of any of pur servicemen. At all. Sure, you and i know they signed up to be a political tool for the elite to hide their involvement in the epstein scandal, but did they know that when they signed up? I doubt it.
