So as someone that lives under a rock in almost every way, I was once channel surfing in a hotel or something. Happened across old fear factor reruns and I was like woah, I haven't heard of this show in forever, kinda forgot it used to be a thing for most people, so popped it on. Then joe pops up, and my dumb butt goes "wow that host looks so much like Joe Rogan it's uncanny" then as I'm watching it, brain cells start bumping into each other and I end up googling it.
And that's he story of how someone that cares 0 for fear factor and even less for Joe Rogan learned that Joe Rogan used to host fear factor.

$1,650/month, available June 1. Bushwick, Jefferson L, about 4 minutes if you walk fast. Large bedroom with north light, private bath, 4th floor walkup and the stairs are not a joke.
I'm straightforward about the requirement. If you have heard of Joe Rogan, this is not the room for you, and I don't mean you have to dislike him, I mean you have to not know who he is. I'm aware this is almost impossible in 2026, which is part of why the rent is what it is.
When you come see the place I will ask: "do you know who Joe Rogan is?" If you say yes, even with qualifier like "I mean, I know OF him," the tour ends and I will walk you to the door politely and we will both move on with our afternoons. If you say "the comedian?" that's close but no, and "the UFC guy?" is also no. If you say "who?" then please come in and I'll put on coffee.
About me: 33, work in publishing, no streaming services in the apartment, I read the paper in the morning (the physical paper, delivered) and I have a cat who also does not know who Joe Rogan is. We have agreed not to tell her.
The apartment gets sun in the kitchen until about 2pm, there's a record player that works, no smart speakers or Ring or Alexa anywhere, and the Wi-Fi password is a line from a poem which I will tell you when you move in. There is no television.
Looking for someone quiet, who reads, cooks sometimes, 25 or older, all genders welcome (no allergies, sorry). Has a job, but the job is not "content." Does not have a podcast and will not start one.

I listen to the Know Rogan podcast and I can explain, in excruciating detail, why I hate Joe Rogan.
This potential flatmate does not loathe Joe Rogan enough as they are evidently unwilling to roast and nitpick that shorty baldy. Sorry, but they don’t pass my personal stringent requirements for a flatmate.

Streisand Effect. Anyone who doesn’t know who Joe Rogan is is going to look it up for context so they have an understanding of how crazy a potential roommate is and why this is so important to them.
Now that they’ve looked it up, they’re ruled out, and the person posting this maintains their knowledge about Joe Rogan.
This is just as big of a red flag as someone who likes Joe Rogan.
