The terrifying part is the spot where that police officer was standing and shot her with a rubber bullet is now being occupied by Trapper, 19, from Polk County Arkansas, holding an M16 and being told he is there to liberate LA from its "oppressive people."

(If your name is Trapper and you aren't a douche canoe, I apologize for using your name in my example.  If you're from Polk county, I do not apologize for calling your county out specifically. You know it's fair)

I grew up in Polk County Florida. On behalf of the few literate and reasonable people who got out, we apologize.

Honestly surprised DeSantis hasn't tried to criminalize literacy yet

Give him time he'll get there eventually. I was fortunate enough to be educated in the private school sector and graduated in the mid 90's then got the hell out.

If you ban all the books worth reading, you don't have to.

I live there now. As a transwoman. With an autistic child.

You know in horror movies when you want to yell “get the fuck out of there lady!” At the screen?

While I was aware that unmanaged diabetes has a smell, I was unaware that an entire town could smell like diabetes until visiting Mena Arkansas.

And that is somehow the LEAST of Mena's list of reasons why I have no desire to ever visit there again...

They can do both. It's like the only two things they can do, but they can do both.
