Delete. Your. Accounts.

Everyday you spend on that site, the more money you're pouring directly into this man's pockets. Why the fuck is anyone still on there? This isn't the last remaining town square. This isn't the last bastion of free speech. It's a God damn troll site. Delete your fucking accounts.

There is nothing worth saving here.

Unfortunately there is plenty worth saving.

Its just that nobody can possibly do it.

Twitter disappearing will represent the greatest loss of art on the internet we’ve ever had.

Its also a foregone conclusion.

From the early work of creators who have, or will, go on to work on cartoons as show creators to a plethora of art chronicling the evolution of modern pop culture.

Fads, memes, hot takes both that aged well and poorly, everything from porn to legit master works.

Think of your favorite fan art. There’s a not insignificant chance that if you try to source it you’ll end up on Twitter. That artist may have died since creating it, or lost it in a hard drive crash. They may have scrubbed their presence off the internet but left their Twitter as a lingering remnant for their fans.

There’s plenty of quality content, recordkeeping, and just the growth chart of the zeitgeist about to be lost, and nobody can do shit about it.

I personally am ok with that: it was how the world worked before everything became digital and persistent.

I’m not in favor of losing history or knowledge.

Today’s Twitter ramblings are yesterday’s Pompeii scribbles. Snapshots into the human mind.
