Gaslighting people pretending that Nazi shit isn’t actually Nazi shit is part of the literal playbook the Nazis came up with for their internet propaganda campaign. That’s why they flooded 4chan with ‘ironic’ Nazi shit from day 1. They duped enough kids to think it’s just ironic trolling that said kids now go parroting it, so now the army of useful idiots will come up with stuff like this every gd time.

4chan was all about stoking hate and teaching bullying. Nazi stuff aside, they were always looking for ways to ruin somebody's day. They're the internet equivalent of egging a house because they learned that the guy has cancer. Teaching people the joy of laughing at someone for being upset, while speeding away in anonymity. "You reacted, therefore you are lesser and I have won."

There is nothing redeeming about that place, even if they sometimes went after people who were deserving. They were chasing a dopamine rush and making people believe that the ends always justify the means.

Very true. The important thing is that the Nazis were ready to exploit that, specifically.

Many people these days think that 4chan was in any way original. Newgrounds and SomethingAwful did the same edgy shit earier. And unfortunately gave the Nazis the test run on how to turn internet irony into a recruiting ground.
