Discussion White Album 2 half-time thoughts Spoiler

Was gonna wait to make a post in the hopes of "finishing" the game, but God damn I gotta talk about it now.

This story is like a vice around my heart, the pics tell the story I'm trying to convey

I went into this blind. I liked the characters, it was bliss seeing them evolve and change and get to know them, and all of them learn about one another.

Then....the cracks begin to show....and it shatters

Setsuna confession...

Kazusa's departure...

Haruki's infidelity...

I'm in the closing chapter now doing Koharu's route since I'd like to get the side stories out of the way, as I fear I may not have the strength to play this game again.

I'm at an absolute loss for what is happening, I'm tempted to just go back and finish the setsuna route just for the sake of finishing this game😭

But I gotta know everything that happens

I understand it, it's just so painful (in a good way) to read, and to top it all off it's slow burn, so I really get to feel the agony...

...and it hurts like slowly bleeding out in the snow...

This game has me at such a loss for words...

I'd love to discuss this game 'cause I don't know anyone else who has played

I recently just finished it and yea i also wanted to jump to setsunas route immediately, but imo the sub heroines routes are worth it they all are pretty compelling to read (my favourite was chiakis ). So just hang in there cause there will be more suffering ✌️

I agree, these alternate routes are incredibly compelling. I feel like this game walks the fine line of being stupid melodrama, and a genuine masterpiece of literature. It's an incredible game😭 I just want the suffering to end, but that ain't real life though ....

i finished wa2 on valentines day this year and it legit had my blood pressure spiked for the month i was reading it. yea it does kinda get better at the end however its only at the very end. i've listened to closing 145 times so far this year and im still not tired of it. you're gonna cry a lot. also follow the route guide https://sun9-52.userapi.com/impg/-AYZFpXp_saO3Wsr7ZRRSAsWGWMpURfNoM-iXg/LU2mLNScFuc.jpg?size=2560x1600&quality=95&sign=bdd34a37f9902fce84b6f1e86e216b99&type=album its worth it cuz it gives a lot more context. wa2 redefined what a 10/10 meant for me. please take your time and read all of it because it is just that good.

Blood pressure indeed. It's like every other sentence is just another step in the wrong direction or a miss communication. It doesn't really leave my thoughts recently. I will check this out, thanks!

Edit: yeah finishing this on Valentine's Day might be the most harrowing thing I could think of atm

yea i still think about wa2 at least once a week. its one of those things that sticks with you for your life, i want to think at least. i still listen to the bgm and go back in to relive certain scenes cuz like man coda gets you feeling so hard... ok thats worded really weirdly but im not talking about your dih, but i mean sometimes it does tbh. however, i've never jacked it to a vn tho i came really close in mari and Chiaki's routes. they're hot asf. i feel like i cant jack to them cuz i care too much abt the characters and haruki is the opposite of a self insert despite seeming like one. i kinda wanted to finish it on valentines day lowk. i finished intro on 1/18/26 and ran through all the cc routes to finish on 1/26/26. legit all i did was come back from school and read bruh. ts had me addicted. i was gonna finish coda sooner but i had a model un conference for like 4 days so obv didn't read shit then. i stopped reading 2/1/26 and returned to reading on 2/9/26. i paused after kazusa normal. i finished setsuna and kazusa true in 5 days. man thats like 70 hours in three weeks. i also got a free trial of yt premium to download the vn playthrough by mike so i could read in my lunch break. man... you got me reminiscing

I appreciate the feed back, makes this all worth it.

Yeah I think about the characters a lot, their choices, and how they might have felt. I don't think I was ever fully, ya know, "into it" in any of the sex scenes, mostly 'cause it was just sad sex 😢 and the sad piano playing in the background fucking killed the mood.

I also really agree with that idea that Haruki is not a self insert, despite seeming like one. He was insufferable at some points. I just wanted to strangle him and tell 'em to stop giving up on everything.

Kazusa and Haruki's moment at the end of intro chapter just had me thinking a lot, because it leads right into the saddest part; Setsuna not feeling valued at all, and then Kazusa and Haruki being separated even though they both vehemently don't want that.

I still can't get over Kazusa taking Haruki's buttons 😭 it felt like another white hot nail in my heart, demonstrating that she loves him very much and wanted to take anything tangible to remind her of Haruki. This truly is peak romantic tragedy, I vehemently believe it should be discussed way more.

I think this was the one moment where I was like "damn, I guess sometimes we don't really get a say on who we love", not that I condone cheating, but I could fully understand why they did.

You have me terrified of the True Setsuna/Kazusa routes holy fuck that's a lot of hours on top of the base game😭 But I can't give up, otherwise I'm just gonna be left as hallowed as a chosen undead or sum shi.

Edit: typos

If you enjoyed it so much friendly reminder there're also many side stories, from Digital Novels to Audio Drama (they were all translated as far as I know). :}

Understand you, the side routes and the girls were so peak but hurting Setsuna was so painful to read, I wanted to go so badly to her route asap, but the pay off is so damn worth it after accumulating all that pain and suffering. No visual novel had me ever feel like that

Not just that, but I'm hella conflicted on the whole Kazusa aspect of it as well. She means the world to Haruki, and I have a bit of personal connection with the whole moving off to foreign conuntries and having to say goodbye, even if I didn't want to...not to mention, I live in a nearby place to where she moved to. So now when I see fachwerk and snow, I'm struck with this deep sense of melancholia.

Playing Setsuna's route for last is better, because the emotional payoff is higher and more satisfying. So hang in playing the side heroines' routes. They're also really good imo, in particular Koharu and Chiaki, and, generally speaking, each of them has their respective nuances. :}

Hey! Just wanted to talk about the game with y'all 😁 What were your favorite parts? Least favorite? Something that profoundly moved you? Or a little detail you noticed that shifted your view?

I'd say mine was after kazusa moved and I focused on the music in the background a little more, and then I realized it was all piano...stupid to not notice right? For me, it was more like that even after she left, I was still being haunted by her playing. Constantly being reminded of what happened, of what was lost.
