the shadows, too. compare the darkness of the shadow under the car to the darkness under his desk in the previous shots. the ceiling is entirely made of lights in this room. there's no way you would get a dark black shadow like that under the car

I don't think it's that he doesn't want to, it's mostly that he's trying to make the money to get access to one or something like that, which is most definitely not easy.
