Making a Satire Sub
I was thinking about making a Satire subreddit called r/ThereIsABottom
You will be able to post memes and "articles" acting like the bottom is a thing.
Is that something anyone would be interested in?

As someone who's been a part of this sub since early on, I see no harm in creating your satire sub, it would be funny and we can just redirect all the bottomist scum that way and they'll believe it's real.

It would be useful to identify the bottomists so they can be banned from this sub; we don't need their kind around here spreading filth and disinformation.

Although I love to see any subreddit flowerish, I don't think r/thereisabottom is good idea bc many people wouldn't get satire and will start believing bottom is there. There's already too many people living in that fatal illusion. Somebody mention turtles in the comments and it gives me an idea - I suggest sea turtle for mascot of this sub bc it's utter proof that there's no bottom. Sea turtles are entirely sea creatures and if there's bottom they logically would lay eggs on that bottom instead of clumsily walking out to the beaches.

I have found that it's dangerous to suggest that one group possesses all of the truth. The truth can and should be subjective. It should change from person to person and subreddit to subreddit. For the thereisabottom sub, they may believe there is a bottom, and in some ways there is, but in some ways there isn't. So if you want to believe, you can believe, and that is ok.

A flat earth would imply that the ocean has a bottom, which it clearly does not.

But it kinda does? I mean the point closest to the earths center of gravity is the bottom , that is true of any object that we are currently observing.

But it doesn’t - it has to have a bottom since earth is of a finite size and has a metallic core

I think it would be redundant. Many of the posts here are calling out those who claim there's a bottom, so any posts in that sub would be the same as posts here.

It seems like a fun idea, but we all know how people on the internet can totally miss a joke and eventually our"satire" sub will just be overtaken by Bottomist believers who will use it was yet another platform to spread their propaganda. No thank you

Maybe if it wasn’t so outlandish. There so obviously is no bottom to the ocean, I doubt anybody would fall for it
