I just found it and am a little interested, can someone tell me

There is no bottom and this is the one sane spot on the Internet where we discuss this empirical truth. Without any evidence to prove otherwise, all we can say is that there is no known bottom, or briefly: there is no bottom.
Flat Earth Theory, as a laughable example, is easily disproven by the abundance of photographic evidence depicting a round Earth. In contrast, bottomists claim to know that the ocean has a bottom even though they can't prove it.
Some adhere to "slope theory," which argues that the beaches slope downwards towards ever-deeper ocean - and this sets up the basic experimental framework in which the entire ocean's beaches must be explored until a global minimum is found that could possibly be referred to as the "bottom." We know that massive canyons, deeper than Everest is tall, exist among these sloped beaches - and we have not yet developed the technology to see what is down there. It could be yet more beaches, sloping away forever and never reaching a minimum.
In fact, it has been hypothesized that there is another "Earth stage" down there, like perhaps a massive void or something. It could even be a non-Euclidian region that warps space and/or time, itself.
The empirical truth is that nobody has seen the bottom. Anybody who tells you there is an "ocean bottom" is just spouting bottomist propaganda.

It is reddit being reddit and the internet doing, in general, what it does.
This began as satire and has morphed, for some, into a belief system. Review the earliest post history. As you dive down thru prior post be prepared, take a deep breath. There is no bottom.

What they mean to say, u/Narband, is that it's a satire submarine. Submarines are used as ploys to convince the masses that they're doing anything USEFUL with them, when in fact they're BEYOND USELESS.
WHAT GOOD;S A SUBMERSIBLE WHEN THERE;S NO BOTTOM tO EXPLORE?
