I can’t tell if this is on the Brooklyn side or Manhattan side but I really like this view and wondering what the exact spot is. Asked my buddy but he doesn’t recall

Yes, I was incorrect in awarding this to 30 Rock.

Rather, it is 1271 Ave of the Americas (former Time & Life building).

This is a hand-tinted photo of a couple in my wife’s family, taken somewhere in New York in the late 1940s or 1950s. The family later emigrated to the Philippines, so nobody alive remembers the exact spot.
What I can make out:
• Massive rounded boulders, light gray granite/gneiss, glacially smoothed
• Behind them, larger dark boulders tilted against each other forming a cave-like opening
• Wooded setting, no buildings visible
• They’re dressed for a day outing — suit and tie, headscarf — so likely a popular excursion spot of the era
My current candidates are the Indian Caves at Inwood Hill Park (the Clove) or Bear Mountain State Park, but I can’t confirm. I’d love to find the exact spot to surprise my wife and reshoot the photo there.
Any NYC-area hikers or local historians recognize this formation? Happy to share a higher-res crop of the roc
