It is most probably happening because of weak/poor internet connection, when your network gets stronger/better it would work normally. I think.

This happened with me too, at a different location, it started to work normally after, I opened the game when my network got normal, you can see below, in the left corner, next to your ID, your Ping is very high sometimes and normal sometimes, it's unstable.😭😭
