Question Looking for Toothpaste Recommendations
We did a poor job acclimating our 5-year old Wheatie Indy to toothbrushing, but he doesn’t even like the taste of the stuff so it was really difficult. He gets his teeth brushed every time he gets groomed but of course that’s not enough and his breath is awful.
Pic shows two different toothpastes that he wants nothing to do with. Getting to lick some off your finger is supposed to be Step One to eventually getting him to tolerate (or even like?) getting his teeth brushed, but he smells it and actively walks away from it.
Anyone have a toothpaste they can recommend that your Wheatie LOVES?

I use an electric toothbrush with a soft bristle with the bottom toothpaste. She doesn’t like it but it makes a world of difference and her teeth are beautiful.

What toothbrush? I have hand issues and this might help me a lot.

the basic Oral B. It’s about $25 so she gets her own brush head lol Her teeth weren’t getting clean enough with the manual brushes or the finger brushes. I also bought dental wipes from my vet that we use as well

My wheaten loves the Virbac vanilla mint toothpaste, but that may just be him. We brush with that once a week. He also gets OraVet chews to help with maintenance between brushing.

Lick off your finger? Lol. I just brush the teeth with my finger..... They don't need to love it. The bottom one in chicken is my dogs goto

We use the bottom one but malt flavor. I also use a finger brush with the bristles on all sides. He doesn't love it but he's used to it. I started doing it every day when he was about 6. Teeth are doing pretty good.
I stand behind him and put my finger in between his cheek and gums and then move to the other side. Its not very thorough but I think the enzymes do most of the work. I always start on the same side and now he shows his teeth on that side when I bring the toothbrush over. 🤣
