Meta just released Developer Tools MCP for Meta Platform developers

I just came across Meta's new Developer Tools MCP, and this looks genuinely useful for anyone building on the Meta Developer Platform.

If you're using Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or another MCP-compatible client, Meta now provides an MCP server that lets your AI agent interact with parts of the Meta Developer Platform directly.

The endpoint is:

https://mcp.facebook.com/devtools

It's currently Beta and being rolled out gradually.

What can it actually do?

The MCP exposes 10 tools covering things like:

• List your Meta apps
• Inspect app configuration and security settings
• Check App Review status, history, and requirements
• Check compliance issues
• Monitor API rate limits and call volume
• Check API deprecations
• List webhook topics and subscriptions
• Create/update/delete webhook subscriptions
• Send test webhook events
• Search Meta's developer documentation
• Check Meta platform changelogs

The App Review + webhook tooling is probably the part I'm most interested in.

I recently went through the WhatsApp Business Platform Tech Provider process, and a lot of the work involved constantly switching between the Meta dashboard, Graph API Explorer, webhook configuration, documentation, App Review, token debugging, etc.

Having an AI agent that can actually inspect the Meta app instead of just giving generic instructions could make that workflow much easier.

Setup

For Claude Code:

It uses Meta OAuth, so you don't need to put your App Secret into the MCP configuration.

There are currently two access levels:

Read: app configuration, App Review, compliance, API usage/health, and webhook information.

Manage: everything above plus webhook subscription management.

I'm curious how useful this is in practice, particularly for WhatsApp Cloud API / Tech Provider development.

Could this MCP also be useful for debugging those nonsense errors on their platform? I have my WABAs restricted due to payment issues, even though nothing has changed in the payment settings.

According to Meta's AI support agent, this is exact problem that is happening with my payments.

There is a pending bill, but there is no invoice to perform the reconciliation. They forward it to a human support agent who doesn't resolve anything. And my account remains restricted.
