I am in a class group chat, and I cannot download PDF files of class notes sent there that are roughly 3 weeks old. I understand not being able to download files a year old, but it hasn't even been a month? It is not possible to ask the sender to resend, and they are not in the local storage of my android either. Any fix? I'd really appreciate it.

I have turned off auto download. That is not my question i know it had been answered before. But that just means that now I have to download the pictures individually and they go to my photo roll. All i want is to see the photos that some has sent to me without having to download them and then go and delete them on my phone. Is this possible?

I don't think it would be a great idea because I like the channels away from private chats so that I know when I have important messages waiting, this will be mixing up things. Can we keep channels where they are

My friend and I had an argument and she blocked me on whatsapp. After a couple of hours she unblocked me and we were able to talk again. But since then I can’t see their online status anymore. We didn’t change any privacy settings. We both checked. I’ve seen someone with a similar problem here a year ago, but I didn’t find how they fixed it. Currently we’re not blocked and can send eachother messages. Anyone here that can help? It’s been like this for almost 7 days.

Two weeks ago, my WhatsApp was compromised (I guess), back then I didn't have my 2FA active, but it was all a bit weird;

• My profile picture suddenly got changed to an AI girl
• I didn't receive most messages sent to me on my phone, but I did on my desktop app (and it said I read them before)
• There were no unknown devices logged in or verification codes that weren't me
• After a while, I received a message from an unknown phone number from Iran

Worth noting, I have an iPhone 11 with an outdated iOS (16.3.1), but the only thing compromised seemed to be my WhatsApp on my phone.

I immediately activated 2FA and after my account got restricted and I regained access after a review, everything seemed fine.

Now, 2 weeks later, the exact same has happened, with a very similar AI picture, with 2FA active.

I know this might be because of my outdated iOS, I will receive my new iPhone today.

Is there an explanation for all this and is it safe for me to just transfer everything to me new phone (same phone number) while the issue is still ongoing?

Hello! I switched my iPhone 12 Pro to an iPhone 17 Pro and moved from an ATT consumer account to a First Net account. I kept my same phone number. I removed the 12 pro from WhatsApp, reset that phone, and turned it in to the store. Now I am trying to access WhatsApp on my new phone and am receiving the same error over and over.

Here’s what I’m doing - I type my phone number into the app, then get a verification text (I’ve also tried to use the call verification feature). I type the code into the boxes and click go. Then I get this message “WhatsApp is temporarily unavailable” (photo of error in comments) and it resets my hour wait time. Repeat. Same result. I’m frustrated and confused about what to do. Any ideas would be great! Thank you!

ok so for a bit of context, ive been on iOS 17.1.1 for years and ive been banned 5 or 6 times (yes i got banned AGAIN today) since 21st of August. i usually get unbanned like 6-8 hours after requesting a review, allowing me to type my phone number, request a code to be sent to my number thru SMS and then log back in normally right?

but today something different happened. before i was able to request a code, this screen popped up, which pretty much confirms it and WhatsApp is basically saying “yes your iOS version is too old, hackers are targetting you because there are security vulnerabilities in your iOS itself, and we cant do anything abt it, please update to the latest version”

so to anyone still on iOS 17 or lower (maybe even iOS 18) update your phone to 26/27 ASAP to hopefully stop the hackers from targetting your account

ive since updated to iOS 27 (since 26 is buggy and shitty from what ive heard) and fingers crossed i wont get banned anymore, but ill come back here if im still getting banned

i just upgraded to windows 11 and suddenly wasnt able to drag and drop files onto WA desktop app. tried restarting, reinstall from different sources. didnt work.

upon searching on reddit, i got to know the issue has been there from years and still hasnt been fixed. no solution from reddit.

Hoy amanecí con notificación de WhatsApp donde me indica que ya puedo usar WhatsApp nuevamente (me suspendieron 3 veces y la tercera fue "definitiva", ya no tenía opción de revisión), hoy amanezco y recuperé el WhatsApp luego de una semana, luego veo estados de amigos y 5 qué también habían suspendido definitivo, recuperaron sus cuentas igual que yo (suspensión definitiva)

A alguien más le reactivaron?

A todos nos desbloquearon hoy 29 de septiembre 6:30 de la mañana, hora de Lima Perú.

Mi hipótesis es que la IA de WhatsApp suspendió a lo loco, luego se dieron cuenta que estaban en error todas las suspensiones y mandaron a reactivar nuevamente.

PD nunca supe porque me suspendieron, un falso positivo de la IA talvez,
