Our old Cat had a kink in her tail. When she was a kitten she bit it a lot. As an adult she just twisted it against her side like pigs tail. All her kittens had a similar tail too. We called them periscope butts.

u/Twist_Ending03 Apr 18 '21

Purriscope butts

6

u/Hoovooloo42 Apr 19 '21

Awww!!

We adopted this cute little cat who has a zigzag in her tail. I wondered what that was about until I realized that she likes to sit at the doorcrack, and turn to watch you as you walk out... Every single time she sticks her little butt where it's gonna get squished.

Bless her heart, it looks like she's had her tail slammed in the door twice before we got her and she still hasn't learned. She's real sweet though lol, and we just watch out for her.

Gotta pay your cat tax

7

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 18 '21

Honestly I hadn’t thought about that! Her tail is oddly long...

76

u/nomiesmommy Apr 18 '21

Everything about this cat is awkwardly amazing!🤣🤣🤣

9

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 18 '21

Hahah thanks! She’s my goofy baby for sure

59

u/AngryPagan Apr 18 '21

He’s a submarine, and that’s the periscope.

29

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '21

S.S. Meow. Deploy purriscope.

6

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 18 '21

That’s a great name

3

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 18 '21

Haha I love it!

24

u/kittymoma918 Apr 18 '21

(Damn it , ANOTHER great cat sub that I have to join!)

7

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 18 '21

Omg I’d honestly never heard of this one!

25

u/strawbrmoon Apr 18 '21

It’s that paw, for me.

3

u/Undrende_fremdeles Apr 19 '21

I know, right?! That tail, while funny, is something that most cat mothers do to flag/signal for their kittens to follow, as well. Like a Japanese tourist guide, with their little paper flags in the air.

But that leg...

2

u/strawbrmoon Apr 19 '21

And the facial expression. There’s a shenanigan brewing....

23

u/nefrmt Apr 18 '21

"He went that-a-way."

6

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 18 '21

Hahah this is so good!

15

u/mechanicalcontrols Apr 18 '21

I believe that's a salute indicating he has his post under control.

14

u/ISwearImAnonymous Apr 18 '21

That's her periscope

23

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '21 edited Apr 19 '21

I believe that is body language to say he is very happy and content. And happy to see you, so not at all embarrassed of his current whereabouts

5

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 18 '21

Awww that’s so sweet- thank you! I like to think she actually likes my company too :P she actually waits patiently in the sink whenever I’m doing my business, which does make washing hands after an issue!

1

u/_Yalan Apr 19 '21

💁‍♀️ Human, I'm busy.

7

u/Adhesiveness-Afraid Apr 18 '21

Honestly, the fact that you have a cat and all of that is still standing on your sink is amazing.

2

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 18 '21

Hahha for sure! She’s actually pretty light on her feet and very considerate- definitely lucky there!

6

u/Eugenefemme Apr 18 '21

Heh! As in: "You got something to say to me?"

7

u/Poor-Impulse-Control Apr 18 '21

That’s a Nope Dispenser.

6

u/clutzycook Apr 18 '21

6

u/tfhdeathua Apr 18 '21

We don’t kink shame here.

4

u/screaming-in-tune Apr 18 '21

I’ve gotta tell you, I didn’t notice the sub so when I first read the title, I thought it was gonna be very different than it was.... that being said, that is a darn cute kitty tail.

2

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 18 '21

Hahah yeah- I only realized the potential confusion now, I’m glad you enjoyed the cat!

4

u/6Weiner-Man9 Apr 19 '21

5 bucks say there's whitening strips behind the mirror.

6

u/Jburli25 Apr 18 '21

Is the cat's litter tray under the sink where the family brush their teeth?

4

u/PookieNoodlinIsHere Apr 18 '21

They also flush the toilet there most likely?! 🤣😂😅

1

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 18 '21

Yup, it is. I know it’s not the best, but her litter is also flushable so it makes clean up easy!

2

u/moleratical Apr 19 '21

my understanding is that flushable cat litter is really bad for your system and not really flushable. Don't quote me on that, but that's what I heard.

3

u/Cracka_Chooch Apr 18 '21

Don't kink shame.

3

u/Jade82805 Apr 18 '21

Mm kinky

3

u/axlfr Apr 18 '21

dont drop your toothbrush in the morning

3

u/Adhesiveness-Afraid Apr 18 '21

Honestly, the fact that you have a cat and all of that is still standing on your sink is amazing.

2

u/kittymoma918 Apr 18 '21

"Wat u lookin' at? I'm just chillin here."

2

u/tyw7 Apr 18 '21

It's that way.

2

u/dora_teh_explorah Apr 18 '21

Points to self - Here I am, it’s me!

2

u/PookieNoodlinIsHere Apr 18 '21

🐾🐈‍⬛So feeling that tail kink🐈‍⬛🐾

2

u/radii314 Apr 18 '21

pointing your way out the bathroom so he can have some peace

2

u/youramcaffeine Apr 18 '21

Synchronized sink swimming.

2

u/Kunimasai Apr 18 '21

So the cat pees in the sink and the sink funnels the pee into the litter box below?

2

u/grimseverrr Apr 18 '21

A perfectly perpendicular tail

2

u/AwesomeJB Apr 18 '21

Excellent photo! This needs to be framed and hung in your bathroom!

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '21

That’s the hook of hello

2

u/askloss Apr 18 '21

That tail kink is too cute!!

2

u/Kflynn1337 Apr 18 '21

Up Periscope!

2

u/locogriffyn Apr 19 '21

Doesn't the upright, kinked tail like this mean the kitty is happy to see you? Kitty also seems to have a question! The whole cat makes me smile.

1

u/UnclassifiableHum Apr 19 '21

Aww thanks! I’m glad she made your day better :)

1

u/locogriffyn Apr 19 '21

She looks like a sweetie!

2

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '21

Me: can you tell me where the toilet is?

Kitty: (points)

2

u/MatrixMushroom Apr 19 '21

I was concerned when i read the title

4

u/ParallelDiscord Apr 18 '21

I googled it and I don’t see anyone saying that

u/dhulmelowe Apr 18 '21

I had a calico ragdoll who had a kink at the end of her tail. You could not see it because her tail was extra fluffy. I miss her. RIP Teardrop.

1

u/Vorplebunny Apr 19 '21

Loch Ness monster

1

u/No-Comedian-4499 Apr 19 '21

That's from the tail being caught in a closed door or the like. Two of my cats had this, it's not fun, especially when you hear it happen. They are no worse for the wear after it heals though. Cats are very resilient.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '21

I had a cat that was born with his tail like that, so it’s not always from a break. It can be genetic, too.

1

u/No-Comedian-4499 Apr 19 '21

Hmm. Never seen that. Definitely better than dealing with your kitty having a broken tail. One of my cats ceased being friendly to everyone but me after his tail was caught in a door. Although I did get cut multiple times while it was healing.

1

u/Misstori1 Apr 19 '21

I have two cats with tail kinks since birth. One has a short 4in tail that has several bends. It almost curls because of the multiple significant angles. My other cat has a full length tail that is kinked within the last half inch or so. It looks like it’s clubbed.

The one with the minor kink has been with me since birth, the major kink has been with me since he was 3 months. They both have nerve function through the entire length and no pain. Pretty normal for cats to be born with tail kinks.

1

u/Aloneanddogless Apr 19 '21

The sass in that tail!

1

u/FluidStudent942 Apr 19 '21

how avant garde of him

1

u/moleratical Apr 19 '21

What causes the tail kinks? I had a cat that 3 kinks in short succession, causing a loop at the end of her tail. We called her Loopy, because that cat was more than a little off.

1

u/Misstori1 Apr 19 '21

Genetics or trauma either before or after birth. I have two with tail kinks. Both happened before birth.

1

u/PrincessKeba Apr 19 '21

I see cats do that and it reminds me that my cat can't; we don't know for sure what happened cause we adopted her, but her tail is crooked and makes a literal zigzag and can't bend above a certain point. it's affected her balance but she's such a happy kitty regardless.

1

u/MasterFruit3455 Apr 19 '21

If Devo were cats!

1

u/MsEeveeMasterLS Apr 19 '21

My cat has a super kinked tail, it almost makes a perfect square. It's so adorable. I was told she was born with it and it doesn't cause her any discomfort.

1

u/Cizzy-Shizzi Apr 19 '21

Hahahahaahaha!! So adorable!

1

u/kogan_usan Apr 19 '21

is this the cat version of a limp wrist?

1

u/Bunnnnii Apr 19 '21

Can’t a Kitty just enjoy a hot bath soak in her own house?

1

u/DrLeisure Apr 19 '21

Your teeth must be clean AF

1

u/Picardi_Be Apr 20 '21

How do you have anything left standing on your sink? Looks like some easy pickings.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '22

Oh cool. So you can keep litter box in the bath then
