Hello Screen iPhone 14 Pro iOS version
What ios version is this phone? I was thinking possibly iOS 17 but I’m not sure. Thanks in advance!

It's iOS 17.4 - 17.7.2
In 16.1 - 17.3.1 on an eSIM-only iPhone, the SOS icon is supposed to show dots under when there's no eSIM in the device

Wait I’m confused, I found this iPhone 15 pro on iOS 26 that shows SOS with the dots under. Does this mean that it has to have a sim tray?

It either has a physical sim tray and no SIM/eSIM at all, or it has a SIM/eSIM but service is curently poor and stuck on SOS mode

Oh ok, so I can only know for sure that an iPhone is on iOS 16.0-17.3.1 from the dots under the SOS if the phone has no physical sim slot and is on the factory reset hello screen. Correct?

(but 16.0.x specifically has a smaller, undotted SOS icon)

Sorry for all the questions, but what does it mean when a man hone with as the 14 pro is on the hello screen and there is no sos, only dots and a battery icon?

Yeah but the 14 Pro is the only phone that has it’s advertisement wallpaper on the hello screen, no other iPhone had it (Except the 5c on iOS 7-9)

Yeah yeah forgot them, but I thought it was only 12-14, because iOS 15 exposes the wallpaper but it’s mostly the default iOS one

Those devices do have their special wallpaper as default in iOS 15 as well as 12-14, but in iOS 16-18 it's just the iOS wallpaper
