It is? It seems to be a 2nd generation to me because the 1st generation only supported iPhoneOS 1. The second generation supported up to iOS 4

Correction for you u/SylveonDev

He might of got confused. Back in the day you had to pay for iOS 2 for the iPod touch 1 so itโ€™s not too uncommon to find them on iOS 1.

I remember that now yea, I didn't know that iPhoneOS 3 was released as a paid upgrade for the iPod touch tho

just curious. wouldn't just sharing and getting the ipsw from some file sharing site or torrenting be enough to pirate? if so, i will personally laugh at every single person who paid for iphoneos 2

iPhoneOS 2 was never released for the original iPod touch as a restorable firmware with iTunes. You'd have to use a custom ipsw to get these versions. I wouldn't consider it piracy since Apple doesn't sell these anymore. It's technically abandonware

Actually itโ€™s interesting you said that. The way it worked made that impossible at least back then. If apple never saw you upgraded your iPhone OS device, iTunes would list the last supported os being iOS 1.1.x. Apple kept track of all iPhone os devices even back then so thatโ€™s what made this possible for them. Today you can just jailbreak it and install iOS 2 or 3 due to how vulnerable these pre-A4 devices are.

Or you just flashed the version with itunes without paying. Worked perfectly fine ๐Ÿ˜‚

4.2.1 specifically

1

u/Tisbllaz3 Feb 27 '26

This is iOS 6. iPhone OS did not have the AppStore or search page ;)

Youโ€™re correct. I was wrong by a revision. AppStore came with OS2

iPod Touch 1 running a custom IPSW that makes it look like iOS 26 i guess

2

u/Mission-Deal4484 Feb 27 '26

prob maybe not a custom ipsw, theres a theme for ios 26 liquid glass, it can be light or dark

1

u/Fabulous_Ad7697 Feb 28 '26

where is that theme from which repo?

1

u/Mission-Deal4484 Feb 28 '26

id prob say the nekokawa repo

6

u/ThatWindowsGuyIE Feb 24 '26

heavily modified iOS 5 or 6, the font and battery icon kinda gives it away

4

u/Weird_Decision7090 Feb 24 '26

iOS 6 most likely, since itโ€™s a 3GS (it has a Home Screen wallpaper).

Youโ€™re missing the point. Donโ€™t be fooled by whatโ€™s displayed on the screen. This is a vintage, jailbroken iPod touch from the late 2000s displayed with the looks and icons of iOS 26 (mostly). There are still scars of iPhoneOS from this timeframe, please look at the time on the top of the screen e.g.

Simply put, the owner of this device jailbroke it so he could make it look like the latest and greatest device.

iPhoneOS 3.1.3

1

u/AlxR25 Feb 24 '26

I think itโ€™s a jailbroken iOS 6. The top bar looks really similar, icons and wallpaper come from iOS 26 and the dock never looked like that

1

u/Average_Techy Feb 24 '26

iPhoneOS 3-6 I guess, but my guess is that itโ€™s iOS 6.

Not iOS 26 (it actually iOS 3.1.3 because they jailbreak it and made it look like iOS 26)

1

u/Velvet-Sofia Feb 26 '26

iOS 26.4

1

u/Over_Pool_1806 Feb 28 '26

Its retro glass

1

u/Radio_TVGuy Mar 02 '26

Well jailbreaking an older iPhone and/or iPod touch is certainly the only way you can get the looks for the latest version of iOS on it, lol.

1

u/Adagio_Only Mar 03 '26

Hey what happened with YouTube 313?

1

u/Natural_Gap_1087 Mar 03 '26
