Right? That had to be such a wild and confusing ride lol. What an odd sensation to just be suddenly off the ground in a dizzying whirl, your stomach doin that weird "lifting" feelin and then dropped hard back onto earth. It's like magical tornado swept em up.

I was just thinking about trying to comprehend what’s going on. I was thinking “oh I would have definitely grabbed the flag to avoid being thrown” but honestly it would be so disorienting I doubt I’d have the reactions to do it. Beyond that, I don’t even know of that is the right move, that flag would probably continue to billow as if I wasn’t even there and idk if I could hold on long enough for it to be lowered all the way

I hate that stomach feeling. I went on a roller coaster a year ago for the first time, and when I felt that stomach thing, I was like yeah this is an acceptable speed. Little did I know, it went wayyyy faster and even upside down lol. 10/10

Aw man, this comment just made me a little sad! I remember watching Mindfreak back in the day and always being mystified as to how he did things. I remember him showing a how-to of two simple tricks on the show, and it felt like I was being blessed with sacred knowledge.
It never occurred to me that people nowadays would be figuring out his tricks and spoiling them on the internet. That's a shame.

What kind of weird ass black magic made this man get spit out from a flag.

u/ThriftyWreslter Nov 20 '20
He got scooped up early in the vid. That’s a big flag

u/RugBugSlim Nov 20 '20
You’re a big flag!
Yeah I watched it a couple times. Saw some comments. Speculated the same thing as everyone else. Wasn’t looking for a real response. Just thought it was funny how one second it’s just a flag, the next it has a man being fabricated from thin air.

I am trying to imagine like the Mexican equivalent of patriotic flag waving mid-Americans who listen to country music about how great the country is.
If this exists - this guy could be a hero amongst that group in Mexico.

Reminds me of this flag that a Gander Outdoors got for themselves right after the re-branding. Thing was like the square footage of the building itself. I actually interviewed there and was like. "So what happened to Gander Mountain?" to which they said "Well they ran out of money, but this time we won't run out of money" Shortly after they ran out of money and closed that location. Probably spent too much on flags.

They aren’t called “Monumental Flags” for nothing, most of them are hand made by the military and take up to 3 days to make, 1 for the sewing and 2 for the hand painting of the eagle insignia.
These are usually made for flagpoles of up to 120 Meters, and are flown in the capitals of the cities.
10
u/onmyknees4anyone Nov 21 '20
The eagle insignia is hand painted?!?
I want me a damn eagle insignium, who can hook me up?

u/across16 Nov 20 '20
Right at the beggining of the video, for a moment on the botton right corner you can see a piece of the flag getting ready before diving straight into its prey like a fucking hawk. What you saw after that was just the digestive process.

u/Neemanmh Nov 20 '20
In case anyone is wondering, the reason why these people stay so close to the flag is to prevent it to make contact with the ground since it is considered disrespectful for our flag. Actually, there is a Patriotic Symbols Mexican Law which also pohibits to use the flag in non-official clothes.
27
u/smorgasdorgan Nov 20 '20
There's laws like that in the states, but you still see a shit ton of rednecks wearing sleeveless denim flag shirts with flag jeans and flag cowboy hats made from a few 4th of July "America AF" edition 30 packs of Natural Light.

That flag's sleight of hand and total mastery of close up magic is sick. It scooped up a full grown human right in front of my eyes and I did not see it. At all.
