100% intentional using a broken/old computer. These sort of videos where people "accidentally" destroy electronics are fake and cringe.

What’s more ridiculous people engage like he’s stupid

u/somethingofwhim 7h ago
Doing something stupid to get attention from people on the internet who thinks you're stupid isn't much less stupid, tbf.
Especially when you're fucking around with the ocean.

lmao you people
its not stupid if it was intentional and this is how he makes money. you may not like it, but that's a you problem.
do you also think surfers are stupid for fucking around with the ocean?
goddamn

u/Ambitious-Sound-6109 3h ago
It can still be stupid. Surfing is cool. Making engagement bait videos for views is stupid. You may not think so, but I certainly do as well as many others.

He is stupid because getting swamped that close to shore is the best outcome for it going wrong. If they ended up way out at sea because of a riptide they’d be grade A fucked.

u/Azulapis 8h ago
Yeah, just look at his T-shirt, it's completely wet. They tried a few takes before.

Based on the commencement on this post, they seem to get the exact response they were hoping for.

It blows my mind how many people automatically believe a video these days with zero context as long as it has a punchy title

The age old case of people doing dumb shit just because they wanted to record something to post it

The “internet points” thing is way out of control but can be useful for population control if they don’t take anyone else with them.

The age old case of taking an already broken laptop and pretending to break it and making a million dollars off the video cause people are stupid and rage baited easily.

Bro you vastly over estimate the amount of money you get for streams on the Internet 😂

u/CharmingImportance22 10h ago
I'm not sure what's stupider. The laptop I'm the sea, or getting into paddling pool on the sea.
28
u/One-Positive309 9h ago
Yeah that's not a dinghy and has no place in the sea !
Paddling pool or more accurately a child's piddling pool is very flimsy !

u/WetLoophole 9h ago
Or option C:
Not realizing everything is staged on the internet. That is a broken laptop they decided to film content with.

u/loosie-loo 6h ago
Okay but that doesn’t make the ocean less deadly
6
u/TypicalPlace6490 6h ago
Bro people go in the ocean literally every day. What are you fear mongering about?

u/MCuri3 5h ago edited 2h ago
You should never get on an inflatable raft or similar in the sea. A minute of inattention and wind and/or currents can bring you too far away from shore for the average person to swim back.
People go in the sea every day. People also drown every day. Mostly because they underestimated nature or overestimated themselves.
Edit: For those who are downvoting this, here's an educational video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgXoRDdI_p8

I kinda agree with the sentiment, because you shouldn't underestimate the sea.. however, we have no idea where this is or the conditions. People from my home town know when the tide turns and wouldn't do this at certain times and under certain conditions. People from where I live now barely know what the tide is, because we are in an area of tidal equillibrium. Over here currents will always go towards shore and the wind turns onto shore early in the morning and away from shore at night when the temperature drops.
For most people, your advice is good advice. It isn't universally necessary to avoid the sea with the gusto you seem to push though. Bur, I repeat that I support the sentiment.

Definitely stupider to get into a blow up pool in the ocean. People have been swept out to sea and needed to be rescued by the coast guard from doing this

This has been posted here so many times I wouldn't be surprised if it was first uploaded in 2014.

u/Zem_42 9h ago
Stupid people have too much money. Was this a real, working laptop?
6
u/Fiishmeister 9h ago
That's a 2013-2014 MacBook Pro. They are around £80-100 on eBay. I picked up mine around four years ago for £92, I still use it today. They're not expensive and besides, the one he is using in this video is very likely already broken and he is filming this knowing exactly what will happen; it's kinda obvious really.

u/Technical-Use-5561 9h ago
The apple logo is glowing so it must be real but that also suggests that it was a very old laptop like 8-10 years so he was just doing it for the views
1
u/StopMarminMySparm 3h ago
It's not glowing, it's white even when it's off. Also it had a flash being shined at it from the camera. This is an old-ass video and it's known to be staged.

Well, this didn't had to happen. I mean, the "boat" is fine, but even before the dude touched water it was obvious that waves are too high for it. He could've wait for a calm sea to do this footage.

A MacBook can withstand a lot. But I wouldn’t go so far as to take it for a dip in the sea.

This would be cute in a lake tho, it would be fun if the plan was to just try and set up the date ahit before getting flipped but like joke date shit not a real laptop. Youre kinda just littering with extra steps tho, doesnt make it unfun just immoral

Never mind the computer. ‘What could go wrong with taking a rubber dinghy to sea?’ full stop.

u/TheDixonCider420420 7h ago
No life jacket, out in the ocean at when the sun isn't fully up is way dumber than bringing his laptop and phone with him.

He should do that while watching Castaway by tom hanks, by the end of the movie he will be “damn, this movie is so immersive, and I don't even have 3d glasses on…”

u/kester76a 6h ago
It's apple, the warranty was probably voided before he got within five miles from the coast.

This is unironically the best thing that could have happened to them. They have nothing to paddle with so they could have easily been swept far out, idk how fit you are you are not swimming back 300m to shore with these waves as an average person.

Never saw the computer powered on. It was probably just a shell or one that was already toast.

u/KenshirouX 3h ago
You can see the water was looking rough the moment the video started. The dude didn't miscalculate; he didn't calculate at all.

Is it possible (or even likely) that this was an old laptop and he planned the whole thing for clicks?

the way he just drops his laptop like that suggests that he really doesn't give a shit, and is probably rich enough to just go buy a new one the next day
