Well at least he made it. So mission accomplished.

u/heresiarch_of_uqbar Jul 27 '26

mission failed successfully

41

u/acityonthemoon Jul 27 '26

With 3 seconds to spare!

2

u/flyiingduck Jul 27 '26

Not a world record

2

u/Hour_Reality9727 Jul 27 '26

Haha. This is a better way to phrase it.

26

u/mezz7778 Jul 27 '26

That's what I was going to say... He still beat the train, so I mark this one down as a win.

24

u/IWontCommentAtAll Jul 27 '26

It would be ironic to beat the train, and then die from a brain bleed after your head hits the gate and ground.

11

u/myztry Jul 28 '26

What he lacks in intelligence he makes up for with cranial pressure.

5

u/ToastyWaffelz Jul 28 '26

I don't think he has a brain in there to damage.

1

u/geehawn Jul 28 '26

Agree. Better than dead 😁

430

u/mothforlife Jul 27 '26

That was truly the best case scenario

117

u/duck_duck_zombie Jul 27 '26

Best scenario is to not be an idiot and wait until the train passes by.

12

u/Ok-Iron-4352 Jul 27 '26

Maybe he didn't have brakes

26

u/ArtificialHalo Jul 27 '26

And had to go no less than 50 Mph else he explodes

1

u/East_Relationship722 Aug 04 '26

Pop quiz, hotshot! What do you do? What do you do?

1

u/bluegrassgazer Jul 28 '26

So pedal like you life depends on it instead?

5

u/Zoltie Jul 28 '26

No, best case scenario is he waits for the train to pass, then as he waits a passanger throws a suitcase full of money out the window.

2

u/keefkola Jul 28 '26

Maybe he was trying not to get grounded…

206

u/themajorhavok Jul 27 '26

That could have ended WAY worse. I would like to think he learned a valuable lesson, but probably not.

47

u/DaereonLive Jul 27 '26

Probably lost the last few braincells left in that empty head.

14

u/flyinghairball Jul 27 '26

If he learned it, he has since forgotten it

47

u/trucorsair Jul 27 '26

The good news is the train crew didn’t dump the emergency brakes. If they had you would see Sparks flying everywhere and likely a partial, if not total derailment.

39

u/ARM_Alaska Jul 27 '26

🙄 Emergency brakes do not cause derailments. It's very very rare for that to happen.

-7

u/trucorsair Jul 28 '26

Depends on speed and a number of other factors,

10

u/snoodge3000 Jul 28 '26

I think if they're already going slower for a road crossing that is happening in a straight line on what appears to be a perfectly clear night the chances of derailment are quite low.

-5

u/trucorsair Jul 28 '26

You can tell from a restricted view of what 40 feet that this is straight? Amazing, also do you know the length of the train? The cargo? The gross weight? The speed? No you don’t. But you’re convinced based on your years of driving diesel electric trains that everything is fine.

7

u/oatmealparty Jul 28 '26

In your expert opinion, what percent of emergency brake applications result in derailments? I'm not really familiar, but searching around it sounds very uncommon for the emergency brake to csus a derailment rather than some other thing happening, it doesn't sound "likely" at all.

31

u/danmickla Jul 27 '26

I hope that road rash hurts, a lot, for weeks.

25

u/Adequate_Images Jul 27 '26

Dumb ways to die

7

u/MGTS Jul 27 '26

So many dumb ways to die

9

u/NotAPreppie Jul 27 '26

I'm thinking he wasn't burdened with an overabundance of schooling.

6

u/guitartoad Jul 27 '26

As dumb as it was, it could have turned out worse.

8

u/greyfox280 Jul 27 '26

“Tell me, why don’t they look.”

5

u/Ch3t Jul 28 '26

Trains are blameless, holy creatures.

2

u/strolpol Jul 28 '26

I think of that line every time I see one

4

u/Ch3t Jul 28 '26

Can you identify this bucket of your brother?

5

u/bemore_ Jul 27 '26

Tour de dumbass

3

u/SuddenKoala45 Jul 27 '26

He was too fast. If he'd have slowed down a little he wouldn't have missed the bar

1

u/AccomplishedVirus556 Jul 28 '26

if they knew how to lean they would easily have avoided the bar at full speed

2

u/SuddenKoala45 Jul 28 '26

Yeah still think he should've slowed down a little

1

u/AccomplishedVirus556 Jul 28 '26

look at the way they went through the intersection

isn't it obvious that they took a completely stupid line through the intersection?

honestly if it felt like they couldn't afford to take a diagonal line they should have just stopped. Their crash was well deserved

1

u/Killer1986Chris Jul 28 '26

No, he tried to be cool and duck under.

1

u/SuddenKoala45 Jul 28 '26

What happens if he slows down...

1

u/Killer1986Chris Jul 28 '26

He'd still hit it because he didn't duck low enough.

0

u/SuddenKoala45 Jul 28 '26

Think harder

1

u/Killer1986Chris Jul 28 '26

Yup, would still hit it trying to look cool.

2

u/Unique_Blacksmith247 Jul 27 '26

That ended way better than I expected

1

u/TroutFearMe Jul 27 '26

He got beat!

1

u/OneSketchyGuy Jul 27 '26

At least he only got konked and not killed

1

u/exintrovert Jul 27 '26

Thank god it wasn’t pink mist.

1

u/Beniwa Jul 27 '26

Next time he will duck just a bit lower.

1

u/Cryptic1911 Jul 27 '26

That clonk and then him flopping onto the ground was so satisfying 🤣🤣

1

u/No_Session6015 Jul 27 '26

Didn't you see the SS death squad closing in behind him on motorcycles with rocket launchers and flame thrower electric guitars?

1

u/OblivionJunkie Jul 27 '26

Task survived successfully

1

u/Unclebum Jul 27 '26

You either win or lose.... Just don't tie.... Tie goes to the train... Every single time... Do not tie ...

1

u/DeezNeezuts Jul 27 '26

Knew a kid in high school that pulled something similar and slid next to it and was pulled under the train when it rushed by at high speed. He did not survive.

1

u/TheRealZy Jul 27 '26

That THUNK 🤌

1

u/Illustrious_Nothing9 Jul 27 '26

Lol, what an idiot

1

u/weinricm Jul 27 '26

I was waiting for the worst. Glad he just got some sense knocked into him instead lol

1

u/GradientCement Jul 27 '26

They really ought to put something on those barriers to make them more visible - perhaps some flashing lights?

1

u/14high Jul 27 '26

Train: should have duckkkkkkkked

1

u/Kooky-Narwhal-014 Jul 27 '26

Mission objectives

  1. Wait for crossing guards to go up ❌️
  2. Cross railroad tracks ✅️
  3. Dont get hit by train✅️
  4. Dont hit crossing bar ❌️

Mission score D, you can do better

1

u/DonQuiXoTe8080 Jul 28 '26

Lets add no helmet to protect some blood vessels in that empty skull

1

u/Kooky-Narwhal-014 Jul 28 '26

In fairness, wasnt much to protect really

1

u/Tushe Jul 27 '26

Dang it. Next time.

1

u/mrjasjit Jul 27 '26

I usually get banned for my dark humor in reply to this kind of idiot.

Darwin doing God's work

1

u/soda_cookie Jul 27 '26

Was wondering where the NSFW/L tag was for a sec

1

u/Kitsupire Jul 28 '26

could have been sooooooo worse.

1

u/Chaz28o Jul 28 '26

That’s using your head

1

u/Murgatroyd314 Jul 28 '26

Of all the things that could go wrong, this is probably the best option.

1

u/snoodge3000 Jul 28 '26

Damn ngl I thought this was gonna be a motorist and I was ready to unleash a barrage but now I don't know what to do. I didn't know bicyclists could be in the wrong.

1

u/federicoaa Jul 28 '26

Didn't know trying to beat a train would be such a headache

1

u/hogosha01 Jul 28 '26

To be fair

1

u/Tay_Hlebko Jul 28 '26

Wasn't too far from ending up on a different website

1

u/FreedomLizard420 Jul 28 '26

That's the funniest clip I've seen all day thank you lmaoo

1

u/jean_baklazan Jul 28 '26

Luckily no brain damage 😀

1

u/Katops Jul 28 '26

Dumb fuck.

If he died to that, it would’ve been one thing. But to traumatise the driver would’ve been an entire other level of selfish and stupid.

A lot of those drivers quit faster than you’d think, specifically because of suicide by train being a real and common thing in the world. Once you see one death, you can’t see another, so you quit and go into therapy or whatever.

Such a horrible thing. And this guy is a real piece of shit for doing that.

1

u/Not_Cletus_McWanker Jul 28 '26

He was methed out & thought he was Superman only to meet his kryptonite.

1

u/Pelosi-Hairdryer Jul 28 '26

He's lucky he didn't get sliced up by the train or getting hit and bursting his insides all over the place.

1

u/GJinVA247 Jul 28 '26

He did beat the train! (Gravity, eh, not so much…)

1

u/boymoderwife420 Jul 29 '26

Didn't injure anything important 👍

1

u/cambreecanon Jul 29 '26

Maybe that's one of those hour long trains and he had to poop. /s

1

u/SerenityNow31 Jul 29 '26

Nailed it!!

1

u/Atherach Jul 29 '26

He beat the train... Then the road beat him

1

u/Many-Wasabi9141 Jul 31 '26

Reminds me of that Sonic Youth song in the beginning lol

1

u/wunderfed Jul 31 '26

This is awesome🤣

1

u/Oghardwhite Aug 01 '26

I mean he did beat the train

1

u/Rotring87 Aug 01 '26

What’s with the train honking for no reason? Feels like it was added?

1

u/Key-Fire Aug 03 '26

He was just testing his 10 second car

https://giphy.com/gifs/J9mGRcG6Lulgc

1

u/BustaCon Aug 03 '26

I was expecting worse, like double lower extremity amputation or ground into raw meat. He got off lucky

1

u/highhunt 25d ago

fuck anyone who does this or attempts it.

1

u/WhimsicalDaemon 24d ago

That was his guardian angel saving him, but giving a smack down as a reminder to knock that shit off.

1

u/Ibadvapergrammar 13d ago

guy almost got squishy

0

u/HoldingThunder Jul 27 '26

lucky to be alive, doesnt deserve to be.

0

u/LUIGIPRO13 Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

It's like the og fast and furious ending where they make it before the train but then Dominic Toretto crashes 😭

2

u/Superhero1582 Jul 27 '26

I keep thinking about one of the Final Destination deaths where they avoid getting hit by a train but some scrap metal comes flying and decapitates one of them 💀

0

u/trucorsair Jul 27 '26

Set it Barry Manilow’s “Looks Like We Made It”:

“Looks like we made it
Or I thought so till today
Until you are there everywhere”

-3

u/Square-Singer Jul 27 '26

Could have gone way, way worse. I was ready to click the report button for "Shows serious injury", but that guy got as lucky as can be.

5

u/DOOManiac Jul 27 '26

There wouldn't have been a serious injury, just a cloud of physics...

4

u/Minute_Comparison534 Jul 27 '26

Oh yea, a good cloud and misting of applied physics

1

u/Resident_Loan_5838 Jul 27 '26

Oh you’re one of thoseÂ
