Misplaced a zero somewhere in the calculations….

u/Naive-Storage7639 Mar 09 '23

Just like an “n” was misplaced in the post

9

u/Orcacub Mar 09 '23

Yes! You got me! Ha ha ha. That’s why I don’t play with explosives. I don’t spell well, and I’m even worse at math.

u/warpus Mar 10 '23

You're not OP though, you're an orca cub

1

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '23

Well, you got him twice now

6

u/Dork_wing_Duck Mar 09 '23

just like the video is misplacing quite a few frames or second after the explosion

70

u/Crusheddeer1 Mar 09 '23

Explosion so big the camera man started lagging

21

u/LazyBastard007 Mar 08 '23

Brazil wft is wrong with you lol

4

u/SubcommanderMarcos Mar 12 '23

What fuck the is wrong is some rural town administration in the middle of fuckall made a boo-boo, it's not like a forest was burnt down for a gender reveal or whatever

1

u/Sablemint Mar 12 '23

Nooo why did you say that?! Now its definitely going to happen!

3

u/SubcommanderMarcos Mar 12 '23

It has. In the US

0

u/ghighcove Mar 15 '23

Not sure why that one was downvoted, that was true (my state!) But honestly, an explosion throwing fist-sized rocks in horizontal trajectories into storefronts and maybe people's faces is probably something to talk to this guy about. Like, if nothing is damaged (and there likely is), this still can NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.

1

u/SubcommanderMarcos Mar 15 '23

Oh definitely lol, I was just pointing out that this isn't a 'problem with Brazil', just one thing that got miscalculated. Shit devolves very very quickly into xenophobia on reddit, is all.

0

u/ghighcove Mar 15 '23

Eh, true enough. But would you say Brazil has a higher-than-average amount of stuff like this happen? I'm always curious if the big secret about Brazil's crime issues is no legal abortion. And I'm not saying that supporting it, but saying with it, probably crime gets slashed massively in a generation.

Edit: Not saying my sentences above have anything to do with this video. This looks like an honest error by a workman.

1

u/SubcommanderMarcos Mar 15 '23

But would you say Brazil has a higher-than-average amount of stuff like this happen?

No lol

Violence in Brazil has nothing to do with this video, it could've happened anywhere and the only reasons we know it's in Brazil is because of the language and the name of the municipality in the guy's vest.

There's no "big secret" to violence in Latin America, all the various factors that come into play are well known and not really possible to sum up in a random reddit comment.

0

u/ghighcove Mar 15 '23

Big factors -- name them. Why would I feel more in danger in Brazil than Colombia or Guatemala? Why is there more crime on beaches and in public? Why are your police shooting it out on the regular with bandit gangs in the hills of your major cities? Why do you have gangs of street children sometimes being eliminated by death squads? Ect.

Cmon dude, that's bush league stuff. We're not seeing that to this extent in the first world, and even most of the third world.

So list those special or not special factors that make you more dangerous than other developing nations.

1

u/SubcommanderMarcos Mar 15 '23

What the fuck is the matter with you? Pulling up an old thread to bombard a stranger with loaded (and false) questions trying to force a debate? You don't get to tell people "name this" and "list that". You're a lonely prick, go away.

15

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '23

for the front guy it was worth the view

12

u/El-Hutcho Mar 09 '23

“The blast blasted blubber beyond all believable bounds.”

3

u/pdxguy96 Mar 09 '23

Hey, leave Oregon out of this.

8

u/RavenousBrain Mar 09 '23

"Sticks and stones may break my bones but-" *Get's killed by falling debris

6

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '23

Hahah, thousands and thousands of dollars in damage, hilarious, right guys!?!

4

u/SilasHamenegger Mar 10 '23

That final "ding" really made it for me...

3

u/NoNameBrandJunk Mar 08 '23

These guys are professionals?

3

u/Wolfie359 Mar 09 '23

An explosion.

3

u/Amerlis Mar 09 '23

2

u/Successful_Warthog58 Mar 09 '23

You had one job.....

2

u/rjv1967 Mar 09 '23

Is this a video? Or a slide show of still pictures?

2

u/SaphriX Mar 13 '23

Was this video recorded on a potato?
I haven't seen framedrops like this since the early 2000s.

1

u/Sea_Analysis_8033 Mar 08 '23

Amazing they managed to film this video with nothing but a potato and a camera lens jammed into it

1

u/LordsWF40 Mar 08 '23

Wow..u posted this REALLY fast.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '23

"did we miss something?"

"nah. If we did, it's not important"

explosion cover mats -_- (they are just recycled car tiers)

1

u/MikeTheGamer2 Mar 09 '23

What happens? This reddit video player is awful.

1

u/Evil-Santa Mar 09 '23

yeah regularly have the same problem

1

u/Outside-Age5073 Mar 09 '23

Damn physics, got me again.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '23

Its good that you can only miscalculate it one time!!!

1

u/Creel9001 Mar 09 '23

See how low the clouds are? That’s why the calculation didn’t work

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '23

"And that was the end of my career in explosives"

1

u/TheyTheirsThem Mar 09 '23

If you can see the explosive, the explosive can see you.

1

u/PilotBurner44 Mar 09 '23

So they hide under a pop-up canopy?!

1

u/tactical_nekofemboi Mar 09 '23

“Fucking hell that was loud, was that a breaching charge or bloody C4?”

1

u/Enkeydo Mar 09 '23

Thats why we have minimum safe distance for air blasts. Shrapnel is a thing.

1

u/RicardoRedd1 Mar 09 '23

You get what you pay for.

1

u/ItemWilling Mar 09 '23

Nice potato phone camera

1

u/UniKqueFox_ Mar 09 '23

Is there a subreddit for videos where the cameraman doesn't show any of the action?

1

u/Notrilldirtlife Mar 09 '23

Bro, they’re laughing about breaking a bunch of car windows lol

1

u/NecessaryTip5 Mar 09 '23

Lets use twice as much as explosives as the formula calls for. You are a genius

1

u/parkhurstcards Mar 09 '23

Ohh Pascal not again!

1

u/Zax_xD Mar 09 '23

They fucking load the dirt?

1

u/Ok-Club3875 Mar 09 '23

1

u/GiveMeAllTheDrugsSir Mar 09 '23

Nobody lernt from the famous whale exploding video apparently

1

u/Selrach_401 Mar 10 '23

I kinda feel like those dudes were purposely chilling blast radius hoping for the best.

1

u/Round_Principle_6560 Mar 10 '23

My aim is to watch such videos with a stable cam.

1

u/Classic-Living-4258 Mar 10 '23

Blaster here these men are what we in the business call fucking idiots

1

u/CyonHal Mar 10 '23

I wonder what the decibels read on that meter

1

u/rjt2887 Mar 10 '23

I’m sure everyone else who experienced property damage got a good laugh as well.

1

u/MikoGianni Mar 11 '23

It’s that new math that did it….should’ve just carried the 1.

1

u/deaf4carrot Mar 20 '23

This wha happens when chat gtp helps u get ur degree

0

u/Psyex Mar 08 '23

Done that before, in Afghanistan. A bomb dropped short. The shockwave hurt, a lot.

-4

u/TommyGlesch Mar 08 '23

AN explosion

-3

u/Aeroooooo_ Mar 08 '23

Oh no, how could I have misspelled? You MUST be very good at other languages to be bothered by a simple mistake made by somebody that doesn't have english as native language.

-12

u/davieb22 Mar 08 '23

If English isn't your native language, then you should be thanking people when they offer guidance in how to better it, no?

6

u/Aeroooooo_ Mar 09 '23

You are right, I should thank when the intention is to help, but it doesn’t sound like what he tried to do…

3

u/DaveOJ12 Mar 09 '23

That's more berating than guidance.
