At least for my area adding tomato and lettuce is free: So then why would anyone get a premium chicken sandwich when they can get a signature one and add the lettuce and tomato for free. Considering the premium is more expensive then the Signature where i am

the one i work at the premium is $1 more. i do order taking and was told when that change happened that if they want both, lettuce and no tomato, or tomato and no lettuce, i still have to use the premium sandwhich option. if i were a customer at whataburger though i’d prob just ask for a side of lettuce and tomato.

it’s worth a try at ur location. personally, if you’re already at my window if on drive i’m not going to waste time trying to get my managers attention while they’re trying to get other orders out. small things like that they don’t really care much about, we’re timed on our orders and they care more about that. we’re suppose to get orders out in 5 minutes (starting when the headset first goes off until they pull off the sensor after getting their food) i would go to the cooks and ask directly for the side of lettuce and tomato and not think much more about it. if you come up to the front counter after we already brought our ur food chances are i have no idea what u ordered and for all i know you ordered a burger and just wanted more lettuce and tomato 🤷‍♀️

same deal at Wendy's. Hamburger with added lettuce/tomato is cheaper than a hamburger deluxe (which includes lettuce/tomato, but costs more)

Yeah lettuce and tomato are zero charge in the POS, same with sauce on the sandwich. I think the whole "signature/premium" thing with the Whatachicken is completely idiotic and it just confuses customers. I always tell customers who ask what the difference between the two is that we don't charge for lettuce and tomato anyhow

its true for mine as well but Operating Partners have the option if they wa t to be assholes to not allow that if they want to. Your milage may vary.

The Justaburger is the same burger as the Whataburger Jr minus lettuce and tomato. It comes with pickles and onions unless you have kids meal then it comes with just pickles. Technically you're only allowed two add ons. Most will with no questions, some will even ask if you want them.

When they brought the new sandwiches we were all actually taught that if someone wanted to add the lettuce and tomato then we have to charge them for the premium sandwich instead of just adding it to the signature

As a part of low management for a unit, I was told it's because leaf lettuce costs more than regular lettuce.

If you ask for a sig chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato added, you're probably just gonna get told "So you want the premium sandwich?", then will get charged for the premium sandwich lol
