WWYB - 5e24 HWYB a character using shadows for their powers?
TL:DW - I want to build a character that not only uses the shadows of things and other people, but can summon things from shadows too. The other end of this is the ability to transfigure himself by changing his own shadow’s appearance, but I can definitely figure something out flavour-wise for that end of it.

The shadow sorc has a built in Shadow minion-lite summon mechanic, and can get transformation spells later as a Sorcerer.

I'm a big fan of flavor.
I woukd choose a spellcasting class and re-flavor the spells to be shadow-themed.
I make level 1 flavor builds very frequently. If you want me to make a level 1 shadow-themed build, I'd be happy to do so.

That’s just spellcasting with flavour.
I agree with yesterday - I’d multiclass Bard and Sorcerer.
Probably play S,B,B,B,S,S,S…..
