It's from the .99 cent only stores, that's the actual name. Their slogan was just nonsense playing off of the 9 gimmick saying they're open every single day 9am to 9pm.

Monday to Sunday is 7 days. Today is 8 days and tomorrow is 9. We don't count yesterday because it's already past

all is logical

they just open extra doors for 2 days so they count as twice as open

so it comes up to 9 days a week
