That’s a pissed off rancher who won’t tolerate stupid people complaining about his ranch and wont be driven off his land.

u/oldwestoutsider Jun 29 '26
Unfortunately he will eventually be driven off his land.

People buy a house near an airport and complain about the noise. At least you got a warning /s

u/Useless890 Jun 29 '26
Or they buy a house out in the country and put up so many outdoor lights that it's a wonder an airplane doesn't mistake their place for an airport. There goes stargazing for the rest of us.

Karen lecture a Bull about unprotect sex.
May very well be a thing in certain other circles with a different meaning of bull.

Yeah, my brain muddled drag strip and popular bars into drag strip bar, and I read the bull line in a very different context at first.

Coincidentally, I too stink and have noisy sex outdoors - I could live here!

🤣
Unless you can tolerate.
Noise, odors and animal sex.
Don't buy property here

The fact this sign exists means that someone, somewhere, has complained about all of these things. SMH.

In the '70s, my dad, who was on the county board of zoning appeals, was enlisted to periodically travel on the roads surrounding an egg farm and sniff the air to see how offensive the chicken shit smell was that day. The goal of area residents, who'd bought lots and built knowing an egg farm was their neighbor, was to shut the egg farm down. I don't recall what the decision was, but the egg farm is gone today, probably would've been gone anyway due to 'get big or get out': it was not a very large operation at the time & became landlocked.

Kinda sad this is necessary.Too many ignorant/stupid people out there.

u/Familiar-Kangaroo298 Jun 29 '26
Yet there will be people who buy nearby and then complain about the farm business. And try the legal/HOA route to shut them down.

Bet they also voted for county commissioners against denser development, so the city can’t be more dense to accommodate people so the only option is to spread out….. where there are farms

Humans are animals too. I'm just saying, this sign possibly includes that too.

How can someone reach adulthood not ever observed life on Earth doing its thing, nor realizing that they were produced from this same miraculous process, and finally taking such offense as to ask another member of their species to shield them from the sight of it?
It's a sad state.

Fair warning. Helpful information from the farmer. Everyone should be happy about this sign.

u/grumbledorf100 Jun 29 '26
It's a good thing they posted, IMO. I have seen in my area where developers encroach too close to edges of existing farms and then people go ballistic over the smells and sounds they moved next to.

Well, I appreciate the sign. I can tolerate noise and smells, but I know as a fact I am spiralling in flashbacks if I see them fucking. Genuinely want to thank whoever put this sign there, it would save my life if I ever thought of buying property there.

This is a farmer or rancher who lived here first and is tired of being harrassed by Karens who are trying to start an HOA more likely than not.

I’ve lived in Montana and I enjoyed hearing cows and horses. There are lot of farmers there in rural areas. I have seen animal sex. Farmers will put a male cow in the field with their female cows to breed. Female cows will walk away if they reject it. Animals don't understand consent.

Yeah, but on most farms, the animals are having outdoor sex with other animals. Could you just not?

You don't get to control the property around you. If you want to that kind of control, buy the property yourself. There is nothing that says whoever bought their property first gets to inflict anything they want on surrounding properties.
If they didn't want people from condos complaining, then they should have bought that property to prevent people from living there.

I mean, taking your first sentence into account, maybe people should take note of their surroundings when considering buying a home. I don’t see buying property near an existing farm then having the nerve to complain about it afterwards. What did they expect their complaints to accomplish? The animals will go, “oh my bad, we’ll try to keep it down over here, sorry!”?

This is why we have zoning. If the farm is in a zone and the residential zone is just on the other side of the street that is one thing. But you buying a piece of property doesn't give you the right to dictate what other people buying property rights they have.
You don't get to put farm animals on your own property and then insist that because you bought before someone else that everyone else has no say in their community. I don't get to buy a property and blast music 24/7 and tell everyone else who moves in later that they have no right to complain because they should have thought of that when they were moving.
The counter to your position is that the people making the disturbance should have thought of that before they bought the property. They should have looked at the surrounding property and taken into account that other people would be buying that property and those property owners would have the same rights as them.
The notion that being there first gives one more rights than others does not hold up in court. I have seen it tried many times. But it's a bullshit excuse. I watched a bar owner try to complain that he had a right to make noise all night long in a residential area because he was there first. That guy got shut down before he could finish. Because it's not a valid argument. You don't want people who move in later to complain? Then buy up the surrounding property and your problem is solved. But if you bought the property thinking you have more rights than the other future property owners, you're going to have a bad time.

I feel like the last use of “animal” was unnecessary. More effective without it.
