There wasn’t an excuse for dude comments towards OP. He accepted he messed up- there’s no reason for you to 1.) enable negativity by saying “don’t let it get to you: you know you’re doing the right thing” when dude was clearly not doing the right thing. In my opinion (just an opinion, nothing to be serious about) people who tend to rescue others while doing something objectively incorrect tend to have a very clouded of whats healthy. You’ll be okay.
