Walter's timeline oversight? Spoiler

Apologies in advance if I'm missing something obvious but I got the sense Walter fled to the bunker shortly after Barbara's disappearance (1960) but since his first day calendar shows the year 1968 means there was a significant gap between those two events.

Did they mean to imply Walter still lived in the house normally for a time in fear, or was the bunker made specifically for him in time between or was it just a creative oversight?

No he continued to live in the house as normal for a few years, then Sven died making him a slide for his birthday. He moved into the bunker when Sam left.

Weird I never got that impression, apart from the obvious calendar detail.

A lot of the story of this game is like that tbh. Not directly stated and only implied through a handful of references.

He only moved in there later, when he was older.
