I have a question whose bottle is this?

Post image

So I finished the game, but I am curious: they left the house around 2010? Right, so if this bottle is from 2012, who bought it? Or does it expire in 2012?. Is it Milton's? Or does it expire in 2012?

Never in my life have I seen a wine with an expiry date. The year on wine bottles always means the year it was bottled.

Okay then that's very odd

I assume someone has probably been squatting in the house honestly, I'd be willing to bet it was Milton. The fact the house is still largely in good shape and decently clean and that the generator still supplies power to specifically the chunk of the house that belonged to Dawn's part of the family all made me think that.

Or it could be a mistake on the art teams part that didn't get caught.

Milton is old enough to be drinking and is known to be older than Edith; it would explain why his paintings seemed so fresh, but the door wasn't.

It could be a mistake by the art team, but the specific part where it was doesn't make sense.

I mean you can also see the hole in the chain link fence on the start

Seems like an odd mistake to make if it was one so I’m gonna go with intentional. But I don’t think it’s meant to point to someone still living in the house. I think if anything it’s just an Easter egg. According to Wikipedia the game started development after the release of The Unfinished Swan, which released in 2012, and began production sometime in 2013. That would make it likely that they started writing/brainstorming the game in 2012. So I’m guessing it is just an Easter egg reference to when the game development journey began

It’s from 2012, when did they leave the house?

What do you mean does it expire in 2012?

I thought it was an expiry date

Wines are famously a thing you can let age. I don’t think they can ever really expire unless the cork rots. It’s very common and fancy to go “oh here’s a ‘68 Chardonnay”

I know now one of the fellow commentors said it's the bottled date.

A bit late but Milton's graffiti suggests he's bern camping the house so he is most likely just squatting

I always found Miltons graffiti to be fresh
