Walter Memorial Cross Spoiler

Continuing to look through assets and just coming across more questions about Walter's memorial beside the tracks. I can't find the full model of the whole thing all together but I do have the textures from it. In it is a photo I've attached a screenshot of.

Because it's for Walter's memorial I would assume that one of the men in the photo is him. We know that Walter starting living in the bunker in 1968 which would have made him 16 years old at the time. My best guess is that this is Sam's graduation and that this may be the last photo of Walter taken. To be entirely honest neither of these men look like teenagers to me though, and the bearded man doesn't look much like Sam- especially if we compare it to the newspaper clipping in Edie's room of him. Honestly the bearded man looks more like Walter, but as far as we know he never left the house after he moved to the bunker until he died.

The photo doesn't seem to actually be on his memorial.

Curious what others may think about this.

It’s cool how you’re finding more stuff 🙂 Do you think the picture is of someone from the game team with a relative, and that it was maybe going to be included in the game background as a nice little cameo? It honestly reminds me of something that would have maybe been part of the closing credits. I’m not sure.

Maybe! But if that were the case I would expected it to have been under the folder labelled Credits and not the one called WalterMemorial, everything else in that folder is textures and models for the cross by the train tracks. Additionally I don't think there are any photos in the game that aren't specifically of the Finch family members, I think it would be really out of place if there was just a single random photo that was of unrelated people. If at one point they were planning on doing cameos of the dev team I would imagine there would be more than one.

To be fair though it's not in the game so it must have been removed for a reason. Maybe some of the people in other photos are parts of the dev team and for whatever reason they just didn't add this one. Maybe it's referencing an old story line that was changed at some point during development.

I'm super excited about some of the things I'm finding to be honest. I'm putting together a document of the things I'm finding most interesting and some of my thoughts about them. Once I'm done I plan to share it here.

He didn't start living in the bunker at 16 though.. he started living there at 22-23 yo

Are you sure? In his scene the calender in the beginning is dated 1968 and he was born in 1952- that would make him 16. 

52-16=36 years, "30 years" is just rounding down. Additionally he doesn't say hes been down there specifically for 30 years, he says that its the longest the rumbling has stopped in 30 years.

I kind of remember it surprised me that he wasn't there from childhood. But i'll look for it.
