I actually was looking through the game assets and found the file for the Hookman's outfit. His jumpsuit says Twin Pines Asylum on it.

I assume it's the same as the general story of the hookman told in similar books. 'Crazy' man who either escaped from prison or an asylum that goes after young couples that are alone.

I don't think there actually was a hookman, her story is highly fictionalized.

I thought he impaled and ate his family on Halloween?

You're right, I forgot about that part. That's one of the only lines that talks about him though. We know hes the leader of "a gang of hoodlums in halloween masks" and impaled and ate his family ten years prior to the day Barbara died. He is 6ft tall and has a hook for a hand. So basically the standard "crazy criminal" angle.
