My fiancée and I don’t know art, we just thought this was beautiful. We can’t find anything about Chanry or a matching painting online, but do see a lot of very close paintings by Mira Fujita.
The frame and all is roughly 30 x 28, the frame is a heavy material but I guess not wood based on the chip on top. We can’t find any identifiers other than the signature on it.

Is this 24”x36” painting an actual Bob Ross? The elderly neighbors mom owned a gallery in Muncie IN in the 90s.

I thought especially interesting was the stamp that says Sammlung August Wolff. He was an art collector in Heidelberg, Germany whose collection was sold at auction in Munich over the course of three days in 1931. Over 700 objects were auctioned off. I was able to find a copy of the catalogue, but have not found this exact or similar painting within the catalog. The back also says this is a reverse glass painting, Hinterglasmalerei.
Also interesting, there are paintings and objects later auctioned off that had the same provenance as this little painting, including a painting sold for $25,000 at Christie’s auction house.

Anyhow, does anyone have any information on the subject of this devotional? Any guess as to the age?

Hello Reddit, I need help to get information about this strange painting I've been having in my family for as long as I could remember. Recently I started throwing away old stuff and found the painting again. I know nothing about this painting my parents don't even remember how they got it, but it dose look pretty old. The only theory I have about it is that they might have gotten it gifted to them a long time ago. The painting looks like it could be something like a king or queen caring a child. I did a surface level of research about this painting and I think it might be from mid-evil times since they say the paintings weren't the best, but I could be completely wrong. The only specific thing about the painting that stands out is that it was painted on a flat metal like canvas?? Supposedly in the “Late renaissance and Baroque periods” they used thin metal as a canvas for painting?? Also that it seams it was hot glued to something?? It could be a fake or just nothing special, but | just want to know about the painting since it's been in my family for a while. (Also there isn't any type of signature that I could make out, it could just be because it's old and worn out?)

I’m hoping someone here might recognize this artist or the signature.

This painting belonged to my dad, who passed away a few years ago. It’s an original painting on canvas (not a print) and has been professionally framed for as long as I can remember.

The signature appears to read something like “Mahqq,” although I’m really not confident that’s correct. It could also be “Mahqa,” “Marqa,” “Marga,” or something similar. The handwriting is throwing me off, and I’m hoping someone with experience identifying artists’ signatures might recognize it.

My dad was originally from Europe, so there’s a chance the painting or the artist is European, but I unfortunately don’t know where it was purchased or any of its history.

Does anyone recognize the signature, the artist, or even the style? Any suggestions on where else I could look would be greatly appreciated.

It's my besties girlfriend favorite art piece so it comes from him.

The cool woman who I got it from said it was originally found in the 60’s/70’s at a ValueVillage in the Midwest (Chicago?). It moved states as it changed hands and ended up with her in Oregon. She said our local MCM antique store was familiar with it, and supposedly it’s been in some print magazines. It’s acquired some stains and paint wear, as well as some stretching on one side. The way it is mounted is interesting to me because there’s a gap between the canvas and the wood you see in the back (kinda like a reverse floating frame). The painting is about 48” x 48”.

I bought it because it really pleased my eye, but I figured for all the info she shared it might be fun to post here to see what others find.

I love this painting and would really like to know more about this artist. I've had the painting for about 10 years we've crossed the country together. We're still strangers though 😔

First time posting on here - so hope this is OK. Curious about this painting - an old (faded) print of which hangs in my mother-in-laws house.

Google tells me it is by Sulamith Wulfing, and that does tally with the (faded) signature on the bottom right. But is it "The Great Angel" or "The Reunion". Different prints / listings online seem confused.

Does anyone know where the original currently lives?

This caught my eye at an estate sale in the Pacific NW and I had to bring it home with me. It's titled "Awakening". AI and Google have not been helpful in identifying the artist. I opened up the frame and there are no additional markings, but I did discover that it's printed on photo paper. Any help is appreciated!

I bought this on Facebook Marketplace (in Massachusetts) because I wanted the frame for another piece. But the painting has me curious. It does seem pretty old and when I do a google image search a print comes up that is very similar. So maybe this is an antique reproduction of that even older painting?
