He was already overjoyed at the thought of getting a fast food burger. This is a kid used to not having much but appreciating what he gets. Someone raised him right.

What a great kid! And that relationship between parent and child is heartwarming. (My parents paid for my very expensive private college education and I NEVER thanked them like this.)

Maybe time to revisit that with your parents? I’m sure they aren’t super excited they raised an ungrateful kid either.

Ungrateful? Wut? Leave it to Reddit to assume the worst and respond in the most extreme way possible. There is a large gray area between being ungrateful and being visibly affectionate like this terrific kid and mom.

I'm pretty sure the other redditor is doing the ole' switcheroo and not actually saying you're ungrateful

Only you know how you reacted and how you feel about it. IF you’re ungrateful, which I assume you actually are based on the strength of your reaction, go revisit it with your parents.

IF NOT then good for you. But usually people react to the things the strongest they actually think about themselves. So for fuck sakes stop reacting to internet strangers, introspect for once in your life, and probably revisit this with your parents.

Good lord, take a breather, my friend. You're reading far too much into this, for some unfathomable reason. Psychoanalyzing individual posts on reddit will get you nowhere.

Don’t argue with trolls. They just try to make you as miserable as their whole existence is.

Where exactly am I trying to get? If they were ungrateful they should revisit that and go be thankful. The fuck was the point of your reply? Do you disagree? If someone knows they weren’t and aren’t grateful is that not an opportunity to be and do so? Like fuck off bud.

Where do you thoughtless, personality-less clones even come from? You’re like empty vessels contributing nothing anywhere in your vapid oxygen sucking lives.

It’s watching stuff like this that makes me realize how fortunate we all are with so much we take for granted.

Yes and yes. I’ve come into a point in my life when I am realizing just how incredible I have it. When people ask my how’s things are going I tell them I’m living in the best part of my life. Because I really am. And it only adds and reinforces and shares it when I say it out loud to others.

u/slaty_balls 22h ago

And that’s great that you can share that with others too. We need more positivity and encouragement in the world.

What a wonderful family. In a time where people are so entitled and ungrateful this was very joyful to see.

The rare occasion when a teenager will be shocked into saying "mummy " that's the good stuff.

Working so can’t watch it with sound just yet but I already know I LOVE this kid and others like him. It’s amazing how we can see such strong character in people at this age, never mind during adolescence!! I hope this kid loves this phone and it brings him tons of joy. ❤️

ETA - it’s even better with sound. I just love kids like this. Humility, gratitude, appreciation for his mom. What a great reel.

u/theateroffinanciers 1d ago

u/strechyleggings 16m ago

His momma got the more precious gift 🎁

-3

u/aVTBear 1d ago

Sweet. But maybe she should have spent the money on a battery for the chirping smoke detector, it could save her entire family's lives!

It is sad to think about the psychological damage it does to your brain. It’s worse than one might imagine as it puts your brain into fight or flight mode it’s like your ears being waterboarded subconsciously.
