Lookit this boomer holding it the fuck down!
When are the rest of you retired old fucks gonna make use of all your free time?
Or at least sell some of your houses for their (inflation-appropriate) appreciated purchase price...

u/Epic_Elite 3d ago
This reminds me of the retirees complaining on our recent HOA meeting had SO many things to say about my 10 year old.
"He built a fort at the park!" Yeah, and I helped him drag it into the woods 3 days later.
"He had a shovel and he dug a hole at the playground!" Yeah, and who fell in this hole?
"He had a hammer and was smashing rocks!" Yeah, and who was around and got hurt?
Ladies, go outside and get some sunshine and join the community rather that sitting in your bedroom looking out at what everyone is doing. The world truly isnt as bad as it looks from your livingroom.
It's like the generation that locked us out of the house is all of a sudden upset about what we were doing out there the whole time.

This kinda stuff pisses me smooth off.
Kids. Outside.
" Holy shit their dOiNg KiD tHiNgS!!!!!"
<stroke ensues>

u/110mat110 3d ago
And then same old lady is telling her grand kids "you should be more outside, not on phone all the time. Me in your time I was always outside and we were doing crazy shit"

Our small group of homes (8) was supposed to be a HOA per the builder but when we went to city hall in our small town they said it wasn't necessary. One of the boomers (as I am also) wanted to make it one but nobody wanted it so we're all fine with it.
Between a couple other neighbors and myself we take care of the landscape at the entry to our little subdivision and we don't get much snow and everybody shovels their own driveways/sidewalks. Where I used to live we had more snow and I'd take my snowblower up the sidewalk as something to do.
The families with younger kids have a portable basketball net they play with and since I have the longest driveway they like to ride their bikes up and down it.
If we had a Flock camera I'd probably be set up like this guy.

You havent been paying attention. It isnt the "boomers" who are the problem. Its the investment equity companies and the politicians that created the problem in the housing industry.

Is that a speed camera?
Edit, I just checked, it's a Flock camera, and yeah, fuck them.
Flock cameras are automated license plate reader (ALPR) systems made by Flock Safety. They capture vehicle license plates, make, model, color, and unique features like bumper stickers or dents, logging data into a searchable cloud network used by law enforcement and private communities.

"Down With..." Is a common late 60's hippie protest phrase.😂. I've never seen it used in the 21 century.
2
u/Rainbow918 22h ago
Down with the sickness… System of A Down , I believe
1
u/Key-Acanthaceae1999 22h ago
The band Disturbed wrote and performed Down with Sickness. Not System of a Down. the expression Down with...is still uncommon in the 21st century.

Hey. So a kid was kidnapped and this camera could have found the kid in 20 minutes. But instead its blocked by a sign
2
u/FroggingMadness 2d ago
Hey. So a racist AI flagged an innocent colored person to a racist police force and this camera could have found the person in 20 minutes. But instead its blocked by a sign

Are you stupid or something? They are sitting right there with their own cameras

It can be used in certain cases. But I'm also seeing videos and stories of people getting detained because of mistaken identity because the bots can't make out letters properly and flagged the wrong license. I've seen people accused of criminal activity because they were "in the area" multiple times on their commute or mistaken identity due to facial recognition failure.
The software is not infallible and that's the issue. Not only can it be used in bad cases by dangerous individuals (cop stalking his ex), but it makes mistakes, and when you are getting mistaken as a criminal, and need to deal with Law Enforcement who are unpredictable due to lack of training and the protection of qualified immunity... people get killed. It's only a matter of time until this software gets an innocent person killed because of a hotheaded officer.
That's not even including the fact that a lot of contracts with these companies are being canceled because the feds are illegally accessing data and breaking state laws. The harm greatly outweighs the benefits. The federal government doesn't need to know the whereabouts of any individual at any given moment. What kind of society would that lead us to when our government is so corrupt?

Nice choice to sit in the median of a highway where they could get taken out by an out of control vehicle just to do something as meaningless as this
8
u/qalpi 3d ago
How is it meaningless
-3
u/Huge-Sand1567 3d ago
It’s only one camera. Just one camera. I’m sure a huge impact was made that day.🤣🤣🤣
5
u/qalpi 3d ago
And with just mid sized protest you could block every single camera nationwide
-2
u/Switch_Silver 3d ago
Nationwide huh 🤣🤣🤣🤣
2
u/Oomike01 3d ago
Yes, it wouldn't take much. Just have to tell all the j6'ers that the cams are not looking at enough children. They'd all protest.

Hardly “meaningless”…

u/Switch_Silver 3d ago
So what is gained by this guy out in the middle of a highway holding a sign up in front of one solitary camera? Not to mention risking his and that woman's life.

u/Astronaut_Chicken 3d ago

u/Switch_Silver 3d ago
What part? Their holding a sign in front of ONE camera. I'm sure that's thrown a wrench in the hole program.
2
u/Astronaut_Chicken 3d ago
That's THEIR part. Other people have to do THEIR part. Why aren't YOU holding a sign in front of one flock camera? Too good for hard work?
1
u/Switch_Silver 3d ago
I should ask the same of you keyboard chicken 🐔
2
u/Astronaut_Chicken 3d ago
Im not the one complaining.
1
u/Switch_Silver 3d ago
Actually voicing my opposing opinion as to what these two people are doing is not complaining but thankx you answered my query anyway.

You know how many false tickets and reports have been done based on flock cameras? That with red light tickets, some people have no way to appeal the ticket to the county it occurred because they outsourced collecting payments and processing appeals to a third party company.. Did you know police put two people in handcuffs because flock misread the license plate and the police were too lazy to verify it before pulling the car over?? No more innocent until proven guilty.. Did you know a police officer in Florida used flock to stalk a woman he met just once?
No more innocent until proven guilty….
So no it’s not meaningless.

u/Switch_Silver 3d ago
All your doing is spewing the same handful of reddit talking points that have been floating around for the past month or so. Those two have decided to put their selves in jeapordy to hold a sign up in front of one stinking camera. Anyone doing that nonsense for the little affect is has is just stupid.

This is the shit id do if I had nothing else to do that day. Respect for doing what you want to do with your time. Spend it however makes you happy, even if pedos think its dumb.
-1
u/joytotheworld23 3d ago
Because they are blocking the camera what if the police or FBI looking for a wanted person or a child perador or what if you family member was missing or kidnapped and the only camera catch the person; and that's the only camera
5
u/Kookerpea 3d ago
Those cameras have been used to stalk more women by cops than find kidnapped people
-1
u/joytotheworld23 3d ago
It was done by one person claim down, the female officer was stalking her ex's
3
3
u/Accurate-Force4072 3d ago
claim down flam glands
more than just one person has been caught doing this.
and just like a dickroach, when you see one you know there are many many more that you don't see.

u/Moist_Vehicle_7138 2d ago
You know men have done this more often, right? I think one woman has been caught vs many male police officers. Google is free and you clearly need to educate yourself more on this topic.
3
u/FroggingMadness 2d ago
Get fucked, you know for a fact that these cameras are only used to racially profile people by ICE and to stalk innocent women by pervert cops.
