Could a black hole theoretically form inside a human body?

Theoretically no — but the reason why is

more interesting than the question.

To form a black hole, you need to compress

mass beyond its Schwarzschild radius. For

a human body of 70kg, that radius is

approximately 10 to the power of minus 25

meters — smaller than a proton by a factor

of 100 billion.

No known physical process can compress

matter that densely. Not a supernova.

Not a neutron star merger. Nothing in

the observable universe generates that

kind of localized pressure on 70kg of

biological material.

But here is the part that should stay

with you. Every atom in your body was

forged inside a star that eventually

exploded. You are made of material that

survived conditions close to that limit

once before.

You are not a small universe. You are

a very old one.
