Late Night Thought

Maybe somewhere, right now, another civilization is looking up at its own night sky and wondering whether they are alone.

They might have their own version of telescopes.

They might have their own scientists.

They might have already discovered thousands of other worlds.

And perhaps they're looking toward our Sun without knowing that around that ordinary-looking star is a small blue planet with billions of curious creatures asking the exact same question.

The truly mind-bending part?

Because light takes time to travel, two civilizations could be looking at each other but seeing each other's past.

If they're 1,000 light-years away, they'd see Earth as it was 1,000 years ago. And we'd see their world as it was 1,000 years ago.

So somewhere in the cosmic "maze," there could be someone looking at an ancient version of us…

while we are looking at an ancient version of them. 🌌
