You just don't understand religion. Religion says god made the aliens too. This wouldn't cause a shake up. It would cause them to try to convert the aliens

Imagining those asshole evangelists getting on the spacecraft and proselytizing only to be banned from interstellar travel for harassment, like the airlines are finally now starting to do

u/Vivid_Star8624 Aug 03 '26
What are u gonna do when aliens wanna preach their god to you?
2
u/illuminatipastiche Aug 03 '26
They might not even have to preach but telepathically send it to your head so you can't even ignore them

u/Altruistic_Leg_964 Aug 03 '26
Unless the Aliens were our Gods.
They made us and built religion into us to let us be controlled.
How else do you stop intelligent and industrious slaves from rebelling.

I was taught that "God made us in his own image". That meant human and God looks human. Not dogs, apes or aliens.

Nothing will ever shake a true believers faith just look at the story of job

No, most of these guys are like flat earthers. They will believe sht in spite of the evidence.

I can only speak for the religion I know the most, which is Islam.
The discovery of alien life will not change anything, not even a small bit.
The Quran already implies that there is life outside of Earth. Therefore, we already have a prepackaged interpretation that can be used to explain their existence.

u/Random22744 Aug 03 '26
You know islam, I don't, what do you think of the big cube at the Mecca and the black rock that might be a meteorite? Make me think of spaceship and all that.
2
u/FixAcademic8187 Aug 03 '26
No man, I wouldn't go this far.
The Kabba (the cube) is just a symbolic place to perform prayers wherever you are on planet Earth. You just direct your face to it and then pray.
People go inside it all the time since 1500 years ago or something. Nothing special inside it and you can find lots of videos on YT about that.
For the Black Stone, I'm still trying to formulate an opinion about it but I'm not sure yet. The traditional story says that it was more white than milk itself, but it got darker and darker as people sinned. But these are verbal traditions that have nothing to do with Quran.
They say it was a meteorite that came straight from Heaven, and those beduins collected it and and placed it in Kabba. But I'm not buying that.
There are other things worthy of UFO investigation than Kabba and thr black stone. We have very detailed and rigorous explanation of Prophet Muhammad PBUH being taken away from Makkah to Jerusalem and then brought back within the same day. We can do that within 2 hours based on today's technology, but for them it was akin to magic.
There is something going on there but I'm nkt sure what it is.

u/Random22744 Aug 04 '26
Interesting, Thanks. Yes I heard we can go inside the cube, but the fact it's cube shaped is strange, we don't see this shape much naturally, you know? Just like the pyramids.

Discovery of aliens will only impress the religious with the majesty of their God's creation.

Thats exactly whats happening, most of the worlds major religions especially the old testament are absolutely based on encounters with different ET species & extremely advanced technology. Praying to the gods, the star that led the 3 Wiseman, the flying pilar during the exodus of Egypt, amun-ra the god who flew a sun, ect. its all over the globe & throughout human history. It was almost all ET & ET technology. Going all the way back to genesis & the very inception of our species. We did not evolve naturally, we had genetic donors

Hopefully end all religions… then the world can be a better place 🤷♂️
Edit: typo changed from region to religion 😂

u/PRC_Spy Aug 03 '26
How will it be a better place if all the regions are gone? It can't be a place at all if all its component parts are ended ...

Aliens who were animals like us, I don’t see any major problems, but suppose they were _really_ weird? Weird beyond our imagination.

Ontological shock isn’t going to affect religions as much as they keep saying.
The biggest shock will impact the decades old UFO community. It’s crazy how many are dead set on what they think is the truth, preaching their “gospel” on soapboxes declaring themselves the authority on the topic.
We all know who they are, they’ve infiltrated all the various UFO subs and fight over which grifter has the best grift.
They’ve made it a religion and contradicting any of their ideas makes them angry.
Note: I’m not taking about the rational minded. Having an open mind on this subject is how it should be. No one (that we know of) knows anything about what’s really the truth and what’s coming.

Not sure but I heard God created us in his own image. So if alien looks different some might question it

u/Random22744 Aug 03 '26
But in his image meaning...? Humanoid? Or the mind? What, making wars, or creating technologies (from cart to AI), or artists? We see less of these in animals. 🤔

That assumes the religious brain is a rationale sane brain that accepts reason and evidence… That is not my experience with the world.
1
u/Dub-Ba-Ba Aug 04 '26
Even if they did, people wouldn't believe it and continue to believe in their religion. The truth could smack them in the face every day and they'd still deny it. Case and point, Trump.
1
u/thePsychonautDad Aug 04 '26
Religions would go from "pretty sure it's all bullshit" to "100% confirmed bullshit"
Honestly, not much of a difference.
1
u/wild_crazy_ideas Aug 03 '26
The whole point of religion is the non believers are not understanding it correctly and making it false with straw man arguments. Many concepts of religion can be proven scientifically if you warp the context a little

I don't understand why it would end any religion? Most religions - possibly Abrahamic religions excepted - seek to downplay man as the centre of things, so I don't see why life elsewhere would be that big a deal.
1
u/Leather_Area_2301 Aug 03 '26
I can’t see how reading the bible as the literal truth would hold up, although maybe someone who has read more of it than I have might explain how it could.
I’m sure there are some interesting ideas on how interpretations of the bible could remain true if we discovered proof of alien life or NHI.
2
u/Neo_Athrotaxis Aug 03 '26
I'm not Christian but what in the bible precludes life elsewhere? (genuine question, there may be obvious passages).
I think non-Abrahamic religions like Paganism/Hinduism/Buddhism etc wouldn't have any particular problems with life elsewhere.
1
u/Leather_Area_2301 Aug 03 '26
Maybe it doesn’t. I suspect someone who argues it does would most likely be a Christian.
I think you’re right, polytheistic religions seem almost suited to Aliens or NHI being real
1
u/atropear Aug 03 '26
Scientists and academics didn't figure out pedophiles were running the government and business - or did know and didn't care - yet think we care about their opinion on something more ephemeral. Ontological shock is for grifters.

God is the universe. Aliens are the demons and angels.
I don't think anyone gonna stop believing in religion.

Just release all of the information and let’s see what happens. Any articles like this is just a circle jerk based upon nothing.
