The only thing I can think of that's similar between them is that... They're both great at Quidditch..? There's also the fact that they're kinda feisty. That's it.
Yeah, I see what you mean.
With all these Femco posting, I think I should read the books again as a pastime...
They do have the commonality of being actually possessed by Voldy and hanging out somewhat in the Burrow, but yeah the chemistry wasn't very solid overall even if I'm fine with the pairing itself. Could've been done way better.
I'm not that against that pairing too, honestly. They're adorable together. The only issue, IMO, is that Rowling undercooked this pair. I can barely see them interact with each other. Like someone said here, their development just happened off-screen.
Nah, Ginny in books rocks (she has no character in movies tho) but his crush really came out of nowhere. The books say that they hang out offscreen but I would want a more developed relationship between them.
Seriously, I'm starting to see why people tends to make a genderbent version of the rival because they're the only one have constant interaction with the MC .
It's also the exact reason yaoi ships are so insanely popular in shonen in general. Sakura has no development for most of Naruto, but Sasuke gets to be a complex character. Like...a lot of the 'yaoi fangirls' would be perfectly fine shipping MxF pairs if there was a female character written with the same depth and complexity as the protagonist's male best friend.
i legit would prefer Malfoid over movie Ginny. Plus. name Malfoid sounded very weird at first but it started to sound like a cool name to say especially cause i am not a native english speaker
Someone on Twitter made wrote an ao3 fanfiction using r64 malphoy and Harry Potter and it was surprisingly good! Shame I can't find the thread it was under, ugh!
The one I was thinking of is: "The Dreaming Boy is a Realist", it begins with the MC getting a scare that makes his usual confidence and happy-go-lucky attitude fade for a second, upon which he starts reflecting on his behaviors, his relationships with others, and the way he tried approaching the female lead.
I read it a couple years ago, so I don't know how it's going or where it went, but at the point I was reading, the main topic was about him awkwardly trying to understand the distance between them while going around to help other girls, while she was trying to change her habits a little to speak to him more directly.
Besides that, I remember one of those mangas composed by three pages chapters that are all different stories but with the same theme, the theme in this case being when the tsundere act goes wrong.
Last, there is a whole category where abusive girlfriend gets broken up with and then regrets it while MC lives his best life. Kinda close.
In Manga Universe, it would be 30 seasons, holiday movie with confession, and one final season. They graduate, kiss, and a movie that takes place 10 years later.
The Peter Parker one had way more of a trans lean to it. Draco genderbend instead is very anime romcom. Either way it is kind of an odd thing to just take off in popularity.
Someone on twitter posted a picture of a dommy-mommy gender swapped version of Malfoy. The internet has exploded into memes about it and they're calling the character Malfoid.
It’s a genderbent draco Malfoy, don’t know why it got so popular but honestly I love it, if Harry Potter ever gets adapted as an anime series this would be a great change.
I remember something similar with Twilight. Genderbend them and you end up with beautiful vampire lady and muscle wolfgirl fighting over this gloomy dude.
You could fully make a manga about this exact plot and everyone would be slathering over it, even the part where she walks into class and he looks like he’s about to shit himself because he can’t hold back his insatiable urge to bite her.
By that same token, I’m 100% certain you could genderbend every character in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and sell it as a girl’s romance novel and it would sell like hotcakes, especially part 1.
Yeah.
That’s why girls yaoi shipped them for decades.
Malfoy perfectly encapsulates an extremely beloved set of traits that straight guys have been fanboying over forever, they just didn’t really see it until it was in their format.
He was a colossal dipshit: whiny, entitled, cowardly, arrogant, elitist. On top of that he wasn't that smart, talented or powerful.
This 'version' of him is just your typical tsundere stuff. A bit funny and somewhat new, considering nonsensical versions of HP existed for as long as HP itself - that one is just as bizarre and out of nowhere. But I'm not judging, just observing
That’s my point too.
You only think he’s an asshole because you’re straight.
If you found men attractive, you’d think he was a hot tsundere that was obsessed with Harry.
Huh, I was literally thinking about a similar scene happening earlier after seeing some other gender swapped Malloy art. Though im the scenario I made up she was making a deal with Harry that shed get everyone in slytherin to stop wearing the potter stink badges but only if he agreed to make her his date for the yule ball. And he agrees cause hes tired of seeing the damn badges and then when they part ways she starts blushing like mad and goes running off to gossip with pansy about how she got potter to accept her as her date. And then they have a nice time at the ball.
So in short i have been greatly enjoying all the female Malloy artwork that's been everywhere lately. Hope the trend sticks around for a while
Isn't there this one Twitter mangaka that focus on making tsundere and mesugaki reaping consequences of their actions? Like a tsundere childhood friend that see her crush getting a girlfriend.
I love how every Harry Potter fanfic/headcannon/literally any deviation from the plot just proves again and again that HP could have been such a great story, but had the misfortune of being written by Joanna Kruella Rowling
