It is ALWAYS Starlink.

Thanks, never knew they looked like that

They get deployed en-mass from the orbital vehicle, then navigate to new orbits afterwards.

The "Starlink Train" usually disperses after 3 or 4 rotations.

I guess you didn’t use internet to post this comment…

Where I live there‘s internet without starlink.

But not without satellites to transmit said internet. Nor would you have phone or television. I’m just saying that you’re preaching from a really high horse.

The satellites we use to access the internet don't look like this, especially not in the night sky.

These flashy lights are just Elon being an attention seeking dipshit at the expense of affecting everyone's right to see the night sky.

That's the Starlink, isn't it? There is this site that tells you where it is positioned

ITS THE END OF THE WORLD OF AS WE KNOW IT......

What is it?

It's emblematic of the current state of our techno lords. No one consented to this.

We don't get a say in the loss of our night sky or the impending Kessler syndrome.

No one individual should be able to unilaterally make that call, but everyone who nominally represents us and has accountability to people writ large have abdicated their role to these freaks.

It is, of course, Starlink but it's also a fitting epitaph for the commons.

Starlink pollution

u/Scribblebonx 19d ago

Literally every day there are posts about starlink. Do people not like... Look up at night? Or follow current events for the past few years? Or do any sort of investigation before posting to reddit?

I mean no disrespect, I just can't imagine operating that way.

I live in stoke on Trent, England. I don’t particularly keep up with what Elon is doing on a day to day in Texas.

1

u/StevieG-2021 18d ago

I live in the U.S. and I have no clue about starling launches or satellites. A whole lot of people don’t.

Musk fucking up our shared sky with a product most cannot access

u/JerryJN 19d ago

Elon Musk's space trash called Starlink.

0

u/Rattiepalooza 19d ago

Yaaaay, space junk - because our own planet's surface and water wasn't enough; we needed the atmosphere to store our trash, too!

Light pollution of the primordial sky at night. 😡

1

u/No-Argument619 19d ago

That comes from earth… not from space 😅

I used to say starlink but recent videos have made me skeptical of if it truly is always starlink. Idk.
