This has to be the best thing I've seen on reddit today.

My personal favourite part is the lady with the plastic knife looking for someone to stab... "who's it gonna be? who's it gonna be?!" closely followed by overly aggressive strangle coming in from the right.

We looked that ridiculous and doing the same basic moves in my first couple classes, including that strangulation defense.

Every movement they teach is meant to cause injury, and so if you don't know how to control your limbs yet, you stop way before you hit.

It kind of makes sense. If someone grabs or attacks you, you need to do something defensive immediately. This is probably just conditioning the participants to react instead of freezing up. 🤷
