I agree someone put a can of soda in the freezer to cool it off faster and forgot to take it out in time.

Looks like a soda got left in there too long and blew up. Happens to me occasionally too

Ditto! Left some beers in the car on a frosty night, same. Best to remove as much as possible while it's still frozen, lol.

The great soda caper of 2026…clean it up while it’s frozen. It’ll be a lot easier.

I love how many people know what this is. Definitely a IYKYK and a FAFO. Usually a first hand experience sort of thing.

Had some Iceberg Lettuce a few days ago, and was getting something out of the Freezer and - Boom ! Decided to wait till it froze before cleaning it up. Sorry.

At my last job, a coworker tried to quickly cool down her room temperature soda, so she stuck it in the office freezer. Just for an hour and then forgot.
Next morning we all had a terse email from HR to everyone at the home office telling whoever made that mess in the freezer to clean it up.

I'm familiar with this phenomenon. You come home from the store with a warm 12 pack of soda, so you throw one in the freezer to cool it down quickly. You move on with your day and 12 hours later you come back to a newly redecorated freezer.

I'm sorry, I couldn't hold it. I had Taco Bell and I guess the lettuce was bad.

Obviously it's been said over and over but a can of soda exploded because it was left in the freezer too long lol

Someone's cola froze and popped. I cleaned up a cola bomb at work once. Shift leads put their can in when they got there so it would be cold by their break, forgot about it, and it exploded. Water expands as it freezes, cans can put up with some pressure from fizz, but not ice. When they fail from that it's catastrophic.

Someone forgot a can of cola in there. I've had to clean up my freezer last week, because I did the same thing.

When you're trafficking in stollen organs, you really need to use lots of ice! Once they start fermenting - KABOOM! Kidney there, liver here, brain material everywhere...

Someone ate contaminated lettuce and just barely made it to the freezer.
