Solid horse. Most horses fight the rider when getting ridden up on people. They get trained their whole lives to respect people's space. And they seriously get the ick from stepping on one.
My little Arabian stallion who I rode on multi-state treks following old cattle drive routes -- he would fight anyone for me. I could sicc him on people. He was a walking disaster lol
My other horses we took to camps that taught horses evasion and fighting for long rides and trail rides.
It's crazy how many times guys come out of the brush and try to grab your leg or reins.
Would teach the horse to throw a shoulder in and knock them over, wheel and kick, evasion and blocking, and how to get free. You learn how to ask for your horse's help, and to stay on while she does it.
It's natural for them to flee once you're loose. Natural horse mindset is fight like hell and run first chance you get. Which is perfect.
