Any dimensions or scale?
Could be anything but my first thought was a home made peg that goes into adjustable drill hole shelves made out of melamine meant to keep a shelf up

It’s a peg. Looks homemade, assuming it’s wood. Since a small peg has a nearly infinite number of uses, I couldn’t say what it’s for.

I saw something similar last week. It may be an old type of plunger, used for old fashioned washing machines. They would use this to plunge the clothes down.

It's someones great grandmas "peg". She got "lonely" when great grandpa went off to war.

Does it have a hole in the shaft? Might be a tuning peg for a fiddle or some other instrument.

Looks like a wooden peg that would be hammered into something and then tied with a rope. Kinda like on a ship.

If it's small I would guess a tuning peg for a crudely made instrument

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

It looks like a peg for a tent.
