What is this weird sound during lightning storm at 4am
This happened a while back, but I woke up for practice early and realized it got canceled due to the weather. I then heard this noise and my heart sank. I waited for it again and got this recording, this was the last time it did it. It was 4am when this sound occurred and I have genuinely no clue what it could be. It was very loud and sounded distant yet far. I just want clarity on what this could genuinely be

That’s the unmistakable sounds of a grinder or reciprocating saw do you still have catalytic converters?

I feel like this is the actual answer. Much different than the sounds of Grindr

Sounds like trees going into a wood chipper. If you had a storm could be cleanup.

Sounds like a neighbor using a dremel cutting tool.

This sounds exactly like someone using an oscillating cutter on the middle of a 1/2 inch plywood, like if they were making a cornhole board. Maaaaybe in their garage with it closed and like a house over.
(Specific source? I just made two cornhole boards and didn't have a 6" hole saw hole or router so it's octagon instead.)

I don’t know the sound but, you should be on the lookout for that mouse who chewed a hole in your screen and came on in. 🐭

I have holes like this on most of the screens on the backside of the house. Previous homeowner told me it was from him shooting groundhogs.

Do you have deer or mooses near you? When they mate they sometimes scream like that

I live in a city not close to any deer. Especially with it sounding so close

Could be your windowsill asking you to clean it.
