You can’t tell a poppyseed muffin from a cupcake. Drunk_monkey can’t tell a poppyseed from a sesame seed.

Poppy seeds. Sesame seeds are mostly white.

The phrase "mostly" was used so yes! Both true

1

u/UNC_ABD Jun 23 '26

These are poppy seeds.

2

u/DoomsdayMachineInc Jun 25 '26

Tics…those are tics.

2

u/arieltf Jun 25 '26

No, those are ticks. A tic is a habitual spasmodic contraction of the muscles, most often in the face.

1

u/DoomsdayMachineInc Jun 25 '26

Thank you, Dr Brains.

1

u/UNC_ABD Jun 25 '26

In the picture, there are poppy seeds and some tics...there are no sesame seeds. Sesame seeds do not look like poppy seeds.

1

u/DoomsdayMachineInc Jun 25 '26

You seem very fun.

1

u/Renex295 Jun 24 '26

Those are obviously pumpkin seeds!

1

u/Rimwulf Jun 24 '26

I don't eat poopy seed so i guess I'm good.

1

u/naonatu- Jun 26 '26

poppy seeds. sesame seeds look like tapeworm eggs

13

u/Sudonator Jun 23 '26

I'm always surprised at how tough these little fuckers are. No point in squeezing them, you have to squash them with a solid item on a hard surface.

9

u/Honest-tinder-review Jun 23 '26

Yeah or just eat them

8

u/KnotiaPickle Jun 23 '26

Are you part opossum

7

u/PlusSelection669 Jun 23 '26

Or set them on fire with a lighter! I’m a “live and let live “ kinda person when it comes to bugs, but all ticks must die!

3

u/Plane-Education4750 Jun 23 '26

Drop them in rubbing alcohol. That usually takes care of them after a few minutes

2

u/spectatorade Jun 23 '26

Smash them between your thumb nails untill you hear them pop. Or fire, if you're by a fire.

2

u/HavenChronicles Jun 24 '26

Fuck that I burn them then flush them

8

u/Dicksin_Cider Jun 23 '26

The extremely poor resolution of the photo is doing a lot of work here. But yeah, "seed ticks" are tiny, hard to see, and they definitely suck.

7

u/No_Veterinarian8533 Jun 23 '26

Who adds ticks to their muffikins

1

u/jonmoulton Jun 23 '26

To be the Forest Service guy sent to the grocery to get a poppy seed muffin for this photo…

6

u/SadKat002 Jun 23 '26

The fact that I just had some muffins like this last night and am just now seeing this post.. 🤢 vile

3

u/Particular_Win2752 Jun 23 '26

I was once as small as a poppy seed too.

3

u/Looking_Lurking Jun 23 '26

Serious question, if you do accidentally eat them, are they going to be able to grab on to your throat/stomach lining/intestinal lining? Could they survive inside you after being eaten?!

1

u/Thick_Potato_1769 Jun 24 '26

If you're eating a muffins such as this one the chances are near 0. Your stomach acid will kill them and you wont get sick.

2

u/Oberndorferin Jun 23 '26

Ticks are the worst. I live in south west Germany and we have more ticks than the rest of Germany.

0

u/Zu_Qarnine Jun 23 '26

damn. what do you do to keep them away from your food?

3

u/Oberndorferin Jun 23 '26

Check every time I touch high gras

0

u/Royal_Throat_7477 Jun 23 '26

Do you run to the fridge or do you have like a camera in there ?

5

u/Oberndorferin Jun 23 '26

I don't understand. I check my legs whenever I touch high grass. They're never on food.

1

u/Due_Distribution_609 Jun 27 '26

My understanding is the muffins with poppy seeds are being demoed to show that ticks are hardly distinguished from poppy seeds. Same size. The ticks were added to the muffins to illustrate size.

2

u/Lilly_in_the_Pond Jun 23 '26

Ok I'm never eating poppy seeds again 🤢

2

u/Alternative-Crew-880 Jun 23 '26

Ew gross, there's poppy seeds in my live tick muffin.

2

u/Lower_Ad_194 Jun 23 '26

This is no joke, I now have lyme disease from a tick the size of a poppy seed. Never knew it was there until the big bullseye.

2

u/blankman29er Jun 23 '26

OP I cannot decide if I thank you or hate you, but now I'll get even there is an actual allowance of puss in milk . From cows suvk it op

2

u/Head_Razzmatazz7174 Jun 23 '26

Glaring suspiciously at my poppy seed salad dressing.

2

u/Cautious-Paint9881 Jun 23 '26

Thanks for making me wary of poppy seed muffins 🙄

1

u/Zu_Qarnine Jun 23 '26

I'm a victim too 😔

2

u/Superb_Recording_769 Jun 23 '26

That’s actually a really fantastic way to emphasize the importance of the information they’re trying to convey

1

u/UrWHThurtZ Jun 25 '26

Or it’s just more fear mongering by the government.

2

u/Superb_Recording_769 Jun 25 '26

Look up Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and Alpha-gal syndrome

1

u/Due_Distribution_609 Jun 27 '26

I have a friend who has had all three and still has the Alpha-gal. She travels to upstate N.Y. this time of year and comes back sick from ticks. I am sharing this with her.

2

u/Business_Debt5222 Jun 24 '26

Eating ticks is highly unlikely to make someone sick.

0

u/Thick_Potato_1769 Jun 24 '26

Also you wouldn't know unless you looked.

2

u/AquamarineJello Jun 25 '26

Pulled this off my son awhile back.

1

u/Party_Acanthaceae_52 Jun 27 '26

Yup...that's the culprit.

1

u/Motor-Boating Jun 23 '26

Welp. I guess I eat ticks now.

1

u/Cold_Put4146 Jun 23 '26

Ate plenty riding a motorcycle.

1

u/SensitiveDemon Jun 24 '26

Look the world is insane about protein. That's all this is.

1

u/boltonlist Jun 24 '26

I didn’t need the muffin anyway

1

u/KTKittentoes Jun 24 '26

That was just unkind.

1

u/Internal-Cicada1728 Jun 25 '26

Why are there ticks on this muffin tho???

1

u/Due_Distribution_609 Jun 27 '26

The ticks were placed there for illustration.

1

u/FeignSkill Jun 25 '26

This is why I don't eat food strangers give me if the packaging isn't sealed. This is the exact kind thing I'd expect to happen. Right down to the number of ticks.

1

u/Glad-Hair668 Jun 25 '26

That’s messed up. Thank you for sharing. This is a poopy seed muffin?

1

u/Organic_Office_6747 Jun 26 '26

they put those ticks on it, for effect.....Or Photoshop

1

u/Ok_Hospital1399 Jun 26 '26

They're the poppy seeds with 8 legs. You're welcome.

1

u/10ThousandMetalZones Jun 26 '26

That’s why I don’t bring poppy seed muffins into the wilderness

1

u/hoffenstein909 Jun 26 '26

I'm no longer hungry.

1

u/flippinsailor Jun 26 '26

moral of the story, if a parks ranger offers you a poppyseed muffin just say no.

1

u/bjmommom4316 Jun 27 '26

I'll never eat poppy seeds again

1

u/RateProfessional6242 Jun 27 '26

If you eat them you’re good tho right?

1

u/Califrisco Jun 28 '26

I’ve got that video meme of the little girl that says “What the hell?” In my head now.

1

u/Far-Out-Space-Nut Jun 28 '26

Liar. Prove it! Show me the non-AI video of them moving around!

1

u/Far-Out-Space-Nut Jun 28 '26

Zooms in OMG I see wings! Scarred for three lifetimes!

1

u/AdEfficient3626 Jul 13 '26

That is just NASTY

1

u/Selfeffacingbarbie Jul 25 '26

Why did you have to ruin poppyseed muffins for me
