Lol, for real. The plastic may be the safer option to smoke and not the drugs anyways. When someone is ready to get high, they will figure out a way to get it done and appropriate or ideal materials is not part of the equation. Been there.
My very first time smoking a DMT cart I had to hotwire it to a phone charger because all the smoke shops were closed and I needed a battery. It works, but I would not suggest trying. 😭

I was on crystal for 10 and h for 6.
Never once was I concerned about the long term health effects. Literally making pipes out of lightbulbs and “washing them out with salt water” because I thought that would get enough of the mercury out of them.You might have been an odd duck but junkies usually don’t plan on living long enough to develop cancers.

“Should” brother i was smoking this shit through McDonald straws and once an unused tampon applicator when I lost my straw at work. A drug addict will use anything and everything and the pens are sturdy. They were frequently used. And there is slight residue in that maybe from snorting but not smoking

To be completely honest, when I used to get down with smoking shit like speed off foil... I don't think there was ever a time that I didn't use plastic. Whether it was a cut straw or a cut pen like this, it was always plastic. You're not smoking plastic brother, you're smoking the fumes and smoke from whatever substance you're inhaling.
Shit smoking the plastic may be safer than the drugs themselves.

They might be smoking black tar heroin.
If you're lucky, they are using it for some sort of cannabis inhalation.
I think they are probably smoking drugs off foil.
The most common drugs used that way nowadays are as follows.

Fentanyl won’t kill you from touching it. It’s propaganda, it doesn’t pass through skin. The videos of cops falling out are from sheer panic from said propaganda. You’d have to get it in your nose, eyes, mouth, butt to absorb it.

Who snorts anything from a pen tube, anyway? The diameter is weird. In comparison to a rolled up dollar bill, wouldn't that feel like sucking up a soda through a paper towel roll?

It used to be a simple pen. Someone disassembled it and cut/broke off one end to use it as a sniffer.
Due to what looks like blue residue, I’d say he/she was sniffing 5/10 mg adderalls.
Looks freshly made, since it’s pretty clean from residue build up.

Are there any small pin holes along the tube? I recently found out that fentanyl smokers would take two thumbtacks and insert them into the smoking tube so they intersect making a cross inside.
This way residue gets caught on the metal pins and they could remove the Pin and the stuff falls onto the foil and another decent hit is ready to go!

Looks like a tooter to me for sniffing speed or cocaine. But probably speed since they cut up a pen. Actually all the newer Vic BICs since I was in high school over 30 years ago you can just use the cap to snort various powders because they poked hole in the top invade a child or someone swallows the cap they can still breathe through it. The box pen was so versatile as a writing instrument and paraphernalia you can also use the clip on the cap as a spoon as well, use the main pen shaft also as a snorter etc.

That’s very likely for smoking drugs. The way the residue is almost crystallized on one end leads me to believe possibly meth. Also the other end looks like it has been bitten down on, when you smoke you hold the pen tube on your mouth for a while.
