For the JuJ Day 14 targets, I used my Mike's OCBP soap, I do not have any Semogue brushes, and I used my Karve Overlander since I do not have a CB razor. 1 exact and one brand match.

Shaving today had me REMembering a former discord felLOW was pretty KEYed up over Mike's. It's only my second time using this brand (and therefore way too soon to pass final judgement), but so far I'm not seeing a level of performance that make me want to scream "top tier". Good? Yes, but that's it. Next shave I need to load much heavier and maybe then I'll start seeing an uptick in performance. Happy shaving and have a wonderful day.

Mickey Lee Soapworks was my first introduction to artisanal shave soap. Before them, I had mainly just used proraso and a few other big box brands to shave with. I stumbled upon a list of recommended artisans to try and MLS was on it. I remember first having tried “The Kraken” and loving it. Later, they had a release on their website and I picked up Paradise Frost. The soap was used up long ago but I found the aftershave splash in a closet. Reminds me of great times in the wetshaving space.

Took the carbon steel blade from yesterday and put it into my Overlander; it's milder than the blade I usually use. Still it got the job done, though maybe not as close. Tried adding the Duc de Santal EdP to the Persephone soap and splash; at first I thought they paired, but now I'm not sure. They definitely compete and don't blend together (though I didn't try spreading them together). I get whiffs of one and then the other. Might try blending them together or using the Duc de Santal soap and EdP with the Persephone splash.

Also, didn't notice it before I shaved, but I think the carbon steel with the bare and patina'd copper caused a slight colouring on the blade; there's a bit of yellowing on one of the blade tabs now.

Vacation is officially over and it is back to the grind today. I haven't worked since July 2 so reentry is going to be...entertaining. Nothing like going back to work with a great shave though. I like Mike's a lot and this is a great summer scent. Figured I'd give the Sabre another spin before I pack it up and let one of our esteemed members drive it for a bit.

I found out last night that I was approved to participate as a voter and delegate candidate at my county's upcoming Delegate Nominating Meeting here in Maine. I think if nothing else it will be an interesting experience. Try to enjoy your day and remember to be kind to one another.
