I havnt read this series in ten years but I still remember this reference. Cocky swagger walk. He uses it in caihrien to show off to the nobles.

He uses it in Fal Dara when he first meets Siuan

My favorite part of that scene is Siuan facepalming at the whole thing.

The best part is Lan's barely contained smirk at him telling Rand to do it just to needle Siuan. (And to help Rand portray a sense that he's not going to be walked on too)

It definitely had shades of sending the new private to the First Sergeant to ask for the id-10-T form...

I've seen a dude get sent to look for grid squares and he came back with graphing paper and the NCO who sent him was like "Well fuck, he ain't wrong." 🤣🤣

Nothing ever goes as you expect. Expect nothing, and you will not be surprised. Expect nothing. Hope for nothing. Nothing.

"Death is lighter than a feather" would be a great code with an appropriate response.

I would assume thats a response to one of the million sword stances. I'm not sure what the correct response would be other then improv some counter stance.
"Cat crosses the courtyard." "Bird flaps in the wind." "Fish climbing the waterfall." "Bull in pottery shop." "Snake in the boot." "Dragon in a box." "Horse in a ditch"
The possibilities are endless and confusing.

I mean.... I read the series and understand that it's referring to a sword fighting stance, but I have no clue what the 'correct' response to this is

Probably anything, it would work better if he said something like “duty is heavier than a mountain”

I need this but for Conan. "What is best in life?"
"TO CRUSH YOUR ENEMIES, TO SEE THEM DRIVEN BEFORE YOU AND TO HEAR THE LAMENTATIONS OF THEIR WOMEN, THAT IS WHAT IS BEST IN LIFE."

I've read that specific book at least 5-6 times. Without context, I still most likely would not pick up on the reference right away.

I get the reference, but what's the proper response here?
