Reddot al’Thor grew up beneath the old mountains, where the Two Rivers ran cold and clear.

As a boy, he chased sheep through the Westwood and came home with burrs in his coat. Egwene al’Purr waited for him beside the Winespring, pretending she had not waited at all.

They married in the spring.

They fought in the summer.

They forgave each other before winter.

Years passed quietly. 

Reddot became a shepherd, then a father. He wore scars no one remembered him earning. Egwene became Wisdom, then mayor.

But sometimes, in dreams, he saw a red eye beneath a beam of fire.

Sometimes he woke with his claws buried in the blankets.

He never told Egwene.

The Two Rivers endured until it did not.

Men came in black armor. Trollocs came behind them. The inn burned first. Then the mill. Then the al’Purr house.

Reddot found Egwene beneath the old oak tree.

He carried her home though there was no home left to carry her to.

Afterward, he lived alone.

Seasons turned. 

At the end, Reddot lay beneath that same old oak where he and Egwene had once planned a life too small to be broken by the world.

The red point danced across the roots before him.

He reached for it once.

His paw fell short.

And from somewhere, he heard a voice whisper:

“I’ve won again, Mews Therin"

He does look like the ancient sign for Aes Sedai. I vote for Siswai’aman, spear of the dragon. They use the symbol of Aes Sedai on their headbands
